I quite like it but then I guess it all depends how it is said which is the same for any words, it is all in the presentation, I it everyday common thing here in Australia to give someone you like a nickname or shorten their name or lengthen it, we are a funny mob down here it is all a sign of affection I think...you know you are accepted when you get a nickname...

My real name is really short and sometimes there are those who make it longer. The nick names sometimes are cool and nice , but you cannot also control to be irritated when they call you a name that sounds personal or annoying. When they call you a name that sounds personal, those are the persons who never care what you feel and uneducated. You cannot actually avoid people like that.

I dontmind nicknames as long as they are some what appropriate or atleast doesnt put me down. For instance, like cutie, boo, muffin, or anything that insnt insultiing doesnt even have to be cute. Like for instance names some of my friends have, scavenger..etc. for inside jokes in between everyone. Sometimes I have had ppl call me Rob or Robby because my name is Robyn. I hate that, it reminds me of the boy robbies I grew up with and it just doesnt appeal to me. Aside from that, I really dont mind nicknames at all, I kind of like them actually.

I guess it depends where I am, who I'm with or is around me. If its an embarrassing name from anyone, then I would rather not have been called that when people are watching but when we'd be alone, I'm okay. If it just shows our friendship and isn't detrimental to my reputation so much, I accept it welcomely. I would feel frustrated, a little upset, or annoyed if I were addressed as "girl" or "lady" or something though... I think that's disrespectful. For the most part, I think nicknames are cute, and normally they aren't really embarrassing. Also, I'll have a nickname to call them back

Yeah, believe it or not I hate being called "honey", "baby", and "sweetheart" by my own husband whenever he does something that pisses me off. It makes me more mad whenever he calls me that!!! grrr!

Sometimes I like my nicknames, sometimes I don't. Depends on the situation. At times I'll be Nina, next Ro, next Slick, next Marie - man, I've got a lot of nicknames. I get confused onto who people are talking about now days. Like my mom would seriously call me Marie, and when it comes to people hanging with their friends and they mention Marie, sometimes I say, "what" and realize that they're talkin to the 'other' Marie. But Marie's not my real name nor the nickname I've stuck with all the time. Names are names, just remember not to take on several identities, or you might end up being Britney Spears with a multiple personality disorder. (';' )
