Is anyone making anything special for Christmas gifts this year. I am doing both of my step daughter's wooden names for their bedrooms. One is pirates and the other is ladybugs. I am attaching the photo of the one I just finished. I hope they like them!

Thats a great gift for christmas if I may say so, and one that is very personal. Im sure your stepdaughters will love them...I know I will if its given to me. For my colleagues and the ladies in the office Im planning to give them the fashion jewels made of beads that Im starting to make this month. I just found these new hobby and I hope I will be able to make some that will be good for gift giving this holiday season. Im using swarovski crystals, glass beads, rice pearls...cheap stuff but very colorful, and i hope they will also love them.

Thank you very much! I am sure your colleagues will love your jewelry. Making jewelry is one of the next things that I want to try my hand in. I have a very creative personality. I love to make things.

Yes its very satisfying to view the finished crafts and espcially more so if the recepients of each gift would appreciate the bead jewelries and wear them.

It's good to know that you are doing something for your stepdaughter. And those acts of kindness will always be treasured by the person whom you love. I am also thinking of what kind of christmas gift will I give to my kids. It's christmas time again, yet I don't have something I could give for my loving kids. But I know that I can think of something when the time comes for the gifts. Good day.

Great idea and I am sure your stepchildren will enjoy the presents that you have made which means they are much more personal. Our children are all grown up now so we give them money for Christmas to spend on what they want but we make their birthday as their special gift time. We choose what we think they will use, like and more importantly something that they will want to have. My partner is very craft orientated plus a talented seamstress and so has made presents for the grandchildren. They will be getting a couple of sets of clothes as well as a few other things she has made. Also each Christmas and birthday we oput a little bit of money into the Trust Accounts that we started as each of them was born. One day when they are older I am sure that they will appreciate receiving a small unexpected windfall.

Hi there moneyandgc. I know that when you are saying special and when you posted in this interest you were probably asking about something related but i will answer this nevertheless as i feel my gift is special (at least from my point of view). I have bought a Disney DVD of Amazon.com and it arrived a few days ago, and i also have placed today another order on the US amazon and one on the UK amazon and i hope the gifts will get here in time as all are for my girlfriend. Apart from that i also have planed to decorate the room in her grandma's house where she lives in my town, while she goes in advance to her parents house for Christmas (where i will go later). The decorations will consist of Disney small towels featuring mainly Disney Princesses (5 of them anyway).

This Christmas I'm doing almost every gift I'll give. Except for my father-in-law that asks for something in particular.

Nice gift, really personal. I am sure she is going to love it. I am about 80 % finish with my gifts for my family. I taught myself to crochet slippers and I just went crazy making them. I have made 8 pairs so far. I am giving my girls pearl bead necklace. I have not made those yet. I am planning on a creative weekend, and will make those.

those are great! my brother in law had one that was made for him when he was younger and he stil has it! i think they use it by the back door to hang stuff on like keys. in your case, when the kids get older, they can strip off the paint or repaint them, so that is a good gift!

I love it! The name is so cute with the little lady bugs on the letters. I bet that your step daughters will be so happy to see how much time you spent on their gifts. I think that homemade gifts are so much nicer because it shows that you really care enough to take the time and make something special just for that person. Did you cut out the letters yourself too?

I have done some special gifts this year but I have not made them. I found an online photo place that does those photo gifts and I picked all the best photos out that I have of the kids and got them made into calendars for relations. I also took a picture of my Dads budgie and had that made into a computer mouse mat for him! He loves that bird so I am hoping that he will really like it.

I am not sure whether or not I am going to make anything for Christmas or not. I am just learning how to crochet so if anything I will be making a purse or something, but other then that I can't say that I will be doing anything, atleast not for this Christmas. have a wonderful holiday season! Keep Warm! Happy Mylotting!

That looks really nice. I'm sure they will like them. I like to make things for people but this year I just can't seem to think of anything to make. I do make orniments every year tho. I have almost all handmade orniments on my tree. One year I made each of my kids a photo album. I did it on the computer. I like handmade gifts. Have fun. And happy lotting.

I haven't thought of really making anyone something this year, but now that you've mentioned it, I am a little tight on the budget, so I perhaps would take the effort to make my 2 cousins, and a few of my closest friends something for christmas. I cannot make scarves since it's kind of too late for that... I perhaps would make them a pretty awesome looking gift basket decorated with shells or something that captures its beauty with a few items purchased inside.

I'm making custom wire jewelry such as rings for my girlfriends. It takes almost no time to make and the outcome is really beautiful. The wooden names are a great idea and I'm sure going to be adorable!
