I also like to experiment with herbs and spices, such as basil, fennel, thyme , nutmeg and ginger. Combine herbs with frit for added interest, Cinnamon is a great addition. . Sometimes I play around when to add the flavorings. Sometimes certain herbs and spices will need to "steep" while you prepare the hot chocolate, so their flavor can be fully extracted. Other times howeva you can add them towardsthe end of the process.
Experiment with your own receipes and see what you can create. The possibilities are endless.

For Christmas in 2007 my husband purchased a machine for me to heat my water for making hot chocolate. It only takes a moment or two and then I add my packet of sugar free hot chocolate. On top I always add a dollop of sugar free whipped cream. This is the most delicious warming beverage in the winter time.

I am super-lazy, I open the sachet, put it in the mug, and pour hot water over it.
Not as good as proper home made stuff, but when you need a quick chocolate fix this works well enough for me.

I heat the milk in the micriwave , then use instant hotchocolate and extra sugar.
When I was little, my Mom was boiling cacao with a little bit of water and sugar, than pour the milk and let it heat.
Drink like this or with a piece of bread and butter - Yammi!

Hot chocolate can be delicious and comforting bevrage, especially during cold winter months. If chilled how eva , you'll have a refreshing drink or possibly a desert depending on how you dress it up.
I usually heat the milk in the microwave and add marshmallows. I also add a pinch of salt just to make the chocolate taste more chocolate.
