One of my senior told me the way to keep her in fit, she only takes vegetable. She made me know that how wonderful the vegetable is. And she said that vegetable can make people thin and live longer. I find that many long life people really take more vegetable than meat. I know vegetable is badly needed for our body, but is it can instead of all meat, I still wondered. So I have tried several days, now I find that I can not give up meat at all. After three days without the meat taste, I feel so hungry that I try to find something to eat every minutes. I now believe I am a meat person, can not live well without meat. Can anyone keep meat out of his/her life, taking vegetable only?

meat is needed as well as vegetables to maintain a healthy diet. when taking meat out and replacing with vegetables you are losing the protein and iron that you need in your body. I AM A VEGETARIAN but i still recommend that my clients eat lean meats because a lot of people dont know the proper foods to eat when cutting out meat. meat is in no way bad for you, just dont overindulge.

you're boss is right. there are a lot of foods where you can gain the nutrients supplied by meat. but i believe white meat such as chicken and fish should also be added to the diet.there is also this protein meat that's like a substitute meat for vegetarians. try to check it out on your grocery store so you wont feel that deprivation. =)

Thank you for your care. I surf the net , and know that meat from fish and chicken is full of nutrients, while with few oils. Taking it instead meat form the cow or the pig is a good choice. But in my college, I can not get fish and chicken everyday. Maybe taking vegetable instead is a possible choice. Enjoy your day!

dandan07 I think it is very important to have a balance meal. A meal that will have the vegetables, meat and fruits. I can understand that there are some extremes due to religious and personal preference reasons and you can always follow them if you are happy with it. In life, there's always a choice. If you prefer vegetables only, then by all meants follow and become a vegetarian - it's really up to you. I would advocate that you do things according to your choice and comfort, just don't follow for the sake of following or making someone else happy. After all, this is your body and your life you are talking about. Be happy always.

dandan07, I don't think you need to give up your favorite completely. You can always reduce the portion and fat cuts to accommodate your balance diet requirements. There is always a way around things when you practice moderation here. Hope you see the point and idea here. Take care.

I like both. I think both are healthy for us if we eat them properly. Just make sure the food you take is balanced with meat and vegetables. If your friend is a vegetarian, then she should take the vitamin B12.

In my view, since human beings have been eating meat for thousands of years, there must be some important reasons. The researches of scientists have already proved that meats contain some nutritional ingredients which could not be provided by vegetables. Such nutritional ingredients are indispensable for our bodies. So eating vegetables only is not a good way to keep ourselves healthy. If you wanna become slender, doing exercises is undoubtedly what you need.

Vegetable contains less energy than meats, so many people try to use it to instead meat, so that they can lose weight in that way. Though meat contain some nutritional ingredients which could not be provided by most of vegetables, the beans may have them. As I know Buddhist monks do not take meat for their religious, but they use the food made from beans to make sure that they will not lose essential nutritional ingredients. But to me, I like the taste of meat, and now the vegetable is expensive here.
