Do you search for topics similar to your post before you hit submit?

Hi everyone! Before I start a discussion I try to search first on mylot. I am cautious on starting a discussion cause there might be similar topics that has been posted before. I search it by typing the tags that could possibly been submitted by other users. I have been doing it and for the past months and I find it very useful. There was one time though that I searched for the discussion and there were no results found so I went on and submitted my post. Later I found out that there was a discussion posted with almost the same thoughts. It was unintentional, I never copied the post but there was nothing that I could do anymore. Later that day I checked on the similar discussion and found out that no tags has been submitted. So that answers why it wasn't included in the mylot search engine. So I suggest everyone should submit tags on every discussion you start. It would help other users who uses the search feature of mylot. And also to avoid similar discussions. Any thoughts on this? I hope my search on this topic is right.
