We have a babycat who was given to us by my husband's daughters. I used to have a cat back home and she's adorable, sweet, and a lap cat. This new one is not a lap cat at all. How can I teach her to be one? She would lay beside me though and sometimes lay on top of me for a few seconds. She's been with us for 1 month now.

Sadly, a cat either is, or is not a lap cat. Since you can get her to lay beside you, that may be the best you can manage. Most of my cats want to be up in my face and the lap just won't do. They either want nothing to do with being on top of us in any way or they want to be held up by the face (so they can get their fur up our noses.) When she is up beside you, do what she likes, even if its ignore her, the more you do whatever it is she enjoys, pet, scratch her head, neck, whatever, the more likely she will spend time with you and maybe you can lure her into the lap after a while.

Hello. Thanks so much for the response. I was kinda wondering that myself if she's really not a lap cat. She's sweet and all that but I guess I was expecting more which is a bad idea. take care and thanks again
