Yes I also tend to agree with your friends. I suppose that better than buying Aspire you should get yourself a Toshiba or a Dell or a hp notebook. Actually it depends on your need, if you are buying a laptop for business purposes then you should look in for a laptop with a good battery backup and greater functionality. But if you are buying a laptop for daily use you should look for features like good ram, good hard drive, good graphics card, and also good battery backup. Truly speaking almost all the laptops are the same, the point where they all differ is the 1) Quality of the Product. 2) Customer service of the company. See all the laptops would have a hard drive, RAM, DVD+RW ...... and so on. But what is the use of a laptop which has all the high end features but can't be trusted on the grounds of durability and performance. A reputable company would definitely give the best customer service and the highest quality product in order to maintain its reputation. So go ahead choose which ever laptop suites your needs and your budget, but remember if you go in for a product from a less reputable company you would have to compromise with quality. I personally recommend you to buy a Toshiba product. Its products are the best and last really long. It also has a very good customer service. Next I would recommend you to go in for a Sony or Dell or a hp laptop (these 3 are in decreasing order of preference).

I'd say get a macbook. They just updated them and the run flawlessly. It'll be a computer you wont regret.
