yes, that's why i'm being gracious to those who deserve a plus, and those who post the best response. it's but fair that they get credit for a good reply :)

the number next to your username is your points (you got that right, it's the number of posts you've made). about the ratings members give you, you can't see that, mylot keeps that in confidence. you'll just be informed of your best responses (of course, that's a "+" rating) and the "!" for any offensive posts which you would know when your post is deleted, or worse, if mylot warns you about it.

I thought so...I just started rating discussions yesterday. I've only been doing myLot less than a week. I am hoping more people will rate my discussions, and responses. I rated this one. Thank you very much for the information.

How do you know who Rates your Discussions? Unless you have been chosen for a Best response somewhere it is hard to tell if anyone Rates you with a +.

Yes, so many people give one word answers though, so there aren't a lot of quality responses out there. Also, the questions aren't top rate either. I usually don't bother giving people a negative rating unless they say something offensive and only give positive ratings if the response or question was well thought out and informative.

I have to agree. I don't give out the + to just anyone. I do if the post is informative and well written. Too many short answers.
