Do you tell people off when they look at your PC screen?

There are people who like to look at what you're doing with your computer from behind your back. They will look at whatever you're doing be it checking your bank account, chatting with your friends, doing work, or anything. Do you tell such people off? Once or twice is okay I guess, but if too often, it really gets on people's nerves.

I don't tell people off for looking at my screen. Sometimes I get annoyed and I stop typing and sort of square my shoulders. That's my hint. If they don't get it, I look at them and wait for their reaction. If they still don't go, I simply say 'Please... it's sort of annoying. =\' It hardly ever happens though. I'm not very protective about people watching what I do on the internet. In fact, my friend and I constantly ask one another to look at each others screens (when we're on the computer together).=P

It's okay if it happens once in a while but it tends to be irritating when it happens too often especially when you're chatting with a close friend.

Completely understandable. I used to get annoyed when my brother would stand over my shoulder while I was chatting with my close friends or boyfriend. It was easy to get him to go away though, I'd just say 'Please gooo =.=' and he'd either leave right away or take a few more seconds to. =P If he didn't, I'd give him a little shove. Muhahahahah@@@ *Cough* Er.. I miss him. =( xD

LOL especially when you are looking at someone's pictures eh? Words need longer time to digest than pictures.

It depends on what I am doing at that particular moment. There are things which I consider as private and would not want other people to watch or observe on purpose. When I want my privacy respected I ask the offenders to leave. So far nobody has taken offense over my request.

I hate these kind of people who stare at others screen rather than minding their own business. I dont like that though, but i dont even like telling them to get their eyes off because it looks odd. It is a kind of a insult to the person. and i dont like insulting people. So i just tolerate that. But people should think themselves that this is not right looking at others personal things. Like there are personal photographs, videos, other secret information.

I always minimize everything I am doing on my screen and asked the person what he wanted. If he insists standing there I asked to be excused and tell that person to leave me alone with my personal work.If they don't know to behave you have to teach them at times.

I do not really like people looking over my shoulder at what I am doing on the computer, even though I am never doing anything I should not be I just do not like it! I only ever use my computer at home so it is only my family that noseys at what I am doing but I still do not really like it.

Well I don't yell at people or tell them to go away - but that doesn't mean I don't get annoyed. I stop what I'm doing and pull up a blank document or say "Excuse Me" . If I feel like the person is really invading my space I just walk away or tell them to please wait one moment. Then again I wouldn't be checking my pay pal in a public place - since I don't want anyone to see my personal info!

If this happens to me I usually minimize whatever I'm doing or turn it off and go back to it later. I am very self conscious about what I do on my computer and I don't like other people seeing a lot of it because I am working on a lot of projects which I wish to keep private for the time being. I have business plans in development and I don't want anyone knowing or stealing my ideas. Also, because other people that I know, know that I make a fair bit of money online they try to get me to start up new projects or websites with them and expect to share the money when I'm the one doing all the work!

I won't accept anyone if they are looking at what I am doing, even if it was my partner. Luckily I haven't face this situation till now as I had the personal computer that belongs to only me. I am not sharing this any one. If I got the same problem, then I will ask them not to watch my monitor. Thank you.

Sometimes I do if I'm doing a very important and private thing, I tell the person looking that its confidential. But if I'm just playing around like online games, I invite them to join me so they'll not be tired of just looking around doing nothing. Fortunately no one tried to look at my laptop behind my back in the office. They know I'm doing very private. ^^,

Well it depends on what you are doing. If I am working something important, I don't people at my back looking at the screen of my computer because it annoys me. Most of the time I want to be in my computer alone and I don't want someone in my back. I will tell them if they can leave because I don't want them looking at my screen.

I know exactly what you mean my brother likes to look over my shoulder when I'm on the computer so i told him i hate when he does that so he stoped. So when people do that to you just tell'em you don't like you don't have to be rude about it's always a way to say things politely.
