With layoffs happening here in the US would it be wrong to not by your kids christmas preasents and instead just have a nice family dinner and maybe just give them cards. childrens ages range between 18 months to 11 years. Please tell me what you think I think diner and cards with the true meaning of christmas on them is what we should be.

If your kids understand why or why not them no I don't think it would be bad especially the real young ones. I have friends here that have been complaining about the holidays. These friends smoke and drink so what I tell them is this. If you can afford to smoke and or drink you can afford to buy your children a small Christmas present. There are some many gifts that can be made. But if your children kno things are tight and understand then this may work for you bu as for the older kids if you have gotten things for christmas up until now I don't know how they will take this. Good luck and yes I know it is tight everywhere in the world right now. I started buying early in the year if I saw a sale on something I knew one of my family would like I got it no matter if it was in he summer months and put it up until now. I won't go in dept over Christmas because that is not what Christmas is about. I think next year we will be drawing names.

It's not the presents that counts to make a perfect or a happy christmas. Kids understands if their parents explain to them that christmas is not all about presents but its about the whole family to be together and celebrate it with happiness. In my own opinion a card is enough to give to kids rather than spoiling them to give presents which are only materials the important thing that kids should feel the spirit of christmas and the true meaning of it inside their hearts.

To be honest I will take my last dollar to get my daughter something for Christmas even if I don't have any money left for myself. I out it like this everybody do things differently so whatever it is you feel is rigt for your family do it and do not let people give you a hard time about it.
