I need to purchase a new digital camera for the holidays. The three different digial cameras I have owned over the past couple years have been horrible! What I mean by horrible is: when I try taking a picture using the flash everything in the picture turns white (not matter how near or far I am), there is always a delay with the picture I am trying to take and with my current camera it is about a 3 second delay. So by the time I the camera takes the picture the person I am trying to capture is alreayd moving, resulting in a blurry picture. I need find a new camera for the holidays, and hopefully to last me for a good while! What brand or type of digital camera do you think works best? Thankyou for your recommendations!

You problem with shutter lag, poor shot-to-shot time and slow recycling are common with most compact digital cameras, even expensive ones. The cameras that look more like traditional film cameras, with a viewfinder, and especially the ones that look like single lens reflex cameras (with a "bump" on top where the viewfinder is usually do not suffer from these problems. However, they are bulkier than the slim screen-omly cameras, and they tend to be more expensive. Try one of the Panasonic Lumix, Nilon Coolpix or Canon Powershot series.

I have a Canon Powershot and absolutely love it! It has lots of cool features and you can record short videos on it. It's also nice and compact. It's a great camera.

I love my Kodak Easy Share!! It has a slight delay but not too bad. It has a feature to help stablize motion. It has a zoom. Its light weight and was very easy to learn how to use! http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=12368&pq-locale=en_US&colorKey=blue Thats the one I have! I love it!!!
