My daughter's kitten, Tiki, is almost fully grown. She is quite the charmer. She thinks everyone is her friend, but gets all poofy when she hears the apartment door open. She stays poofy until she sees who it is - unless I call her. I'll walk in and say, "Where's my grandkitty?" Within seconds, she'll come running around the corner and right up to me to be picked up and loved.
I've added some new photos of her to my profile, but will put one of them here as well. I didn't realize it had already been seven months since I posted the first ones of her. This photo is from August. She's just as beautiful now.
Have you ever known a cat who just captured your heart? I mean, they all do if you love cats, but one that just stands out in some way?

Yes, the cat I have now I fell in love with her the first time I set eyes on her. She was not even a day old when I saw her and she looked like a little bundle of steel wool and that color too. When she was old enough to take home, I got her from my oldest daughter, and the next time they saw her and saw her color and markings they could not believe it was the same cat/black and white.

Awwww. She went from gray to black and white? I know Siamese go from white to points, but usually other colors are what they are.
I'm glad you responded because the photo I uploaded didn't post. I wish we could post photos after the fact, but I had to wait until someone responded. Isn't she gorgeous???

Yes she is such a pretty kitty. The mother to my cat was sort of those colors and she also had one that was brownish/orange and one solid orange. I guess she made the rounds so I had no idea really what color my cat would turn out.
I was going to mention to you that there was no picture attached but hit send before I did. Yes, it would be nice if we could do so many things after we hit that send button like "edit". hahahaha

Yes, that edit button would be wonderful - I've said that often when I find errors even after I've previewed the darned things!! LOL
I've had litters with "coats of many colors" as well. My Chloe is the product of one of them. Her mother was marked like a tabby-point Siamese, but none of her kittens had those markings. Three were all short-haired, except for Chloe who is semi-long haired. Chloe is gray, orange and white with tabby markings where there is color, Baby was a tortoiseshell, Russell was a little solid gray with white feet, Zoe was an orange tabby. Mama Pepper really did get around!

Hi jerz! Oh Tiki is a beautiful kitty! I love her colors and
her markings! She is just so precious! I can see why you love
her so much. She does look like she is very sweet. My cat
Luna runs when he hears someone at the door and he's 4 1/2
now! He should be finished with that behavior! But when he
knows it's mommy he comes out to see me! When it's my boyfriend
coming home both my cat's run into the kitchen/office so I
know he's home! They both aren't too thrilled with him since
he's always chasing them out of the bedroom! He's not a cat
lover at all! These 2 boys that I have right now are the
sweetest cats that I have ever had. They both are so lovey
dovey! But I did have one special cat name Cougar that I just
loved so much! He was so special! He was an orange tabby and
everyone loved him! Even my vet cried when he had to put him
to sleep. There just was something about him. I called him
my "Angel Boy" and he called me "ma"! He danced to the song
that I made up for him! He just was so cute! But Star & Luna
are even sweeter then he was. But I still miss Cougar. He was
here with Star & Luna for about 3 week hating ever minute and
then I had to put him to sleep. Thankfully I already had them
as kittens then.

I have a friend who had to put her orange tabby down a couple years ago - he was well over 20 and had grown up with her kids. She cried the whole time and now has his ashes in a pine box next to her bed with his photo on the front of it. I might not go that far, but I understand the attachment, for sure!

Unfortunately I am a dog person. I don;t dislike cats but I don;t want to own them as a pet. I prefer dogs. However my mum's cat is a charmer and despite being 12 years old she comes for cuddles.

It's fun stopping by the apartment. My daughter calls her a "watch cat" because of how she stands all poofed if she hears something like the door opening. But, when I walk in and call her, the poof goes away and she tears down the hall and around the corner to greet me. If we're outside, she'll sit in the kitchen window and look down at us meowing until we answer her. She doesn't like being alone. Deb says when she comes home from work, Tiki is all over her, thrilled that she's home.
