The holiday season is here and that means yummy treats. The season begins with Halloween candy, continues through Thanksgiving with turkey and pies, Christmas brings merry-making eggnog and all of those baked cookie treats, and then New Year's comes with appetizers to enjoy while everyone toasts. But, it doesn't end there - next come Super Bowl buffalo wings and Valentine's Day chocolates to contend with. Everyone has their favorite holiday treat, what is yours?

This is a hard one. I like them all. My favorite though if I had to chose would probably be Christmas treats. I cant wait for Christmas to get here just to have some eggnog. My family always makes fun of me for drinking so much of it but I just cant stop sometimes. I also enjoy making the Christmas cookies for everyone. There so delicious and also fun to make with family.

Well me and my family are PA Dutch and we love good PA food. Especially good ole whoopi pies. They are big and sweet and chocolately delicious. They are very similar to the Oreo Cakesters, but we make them about 10 times bigger, and with enough icing to choke an elephant. They are really great, and bring back good times of my family and heritage.

Here in the Philippines, we have "Lechon" (roasted pig) for Christmas and I absolutely love it! Of course it's available throughout the year, but it's just a special treat and a must for the Holidays. It also comes with a special dipping sauce that is made from fat, oil, liver, etc (really gross stuff, but soo good). We also have a lot of sweets-my personal favorite being food for the gods. :)

My favorite treat are holly leaves my aunt makes for x-mas. They are so yummy! And of course, I love x-mas butter cookies and the classic, pumpkin pie=)

I haven'ty had these since my mom passed away. They were a pinapple cookie. Sugar cookie dough in rectangles about an inch buy 2 inches. A mixture of crushewd pineapple with some type of syrup as well making it semi-thick. This placed in the center of the rectangle then folded like a bowtie. Cooked then covered lightly wqith sugar. I want a recipe for them too. But now days it is French Silk Pie or a very good Chocolate Rasberry Torte. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My favorite it the turkey. We rarely have it during the rest of the year, so it is something to look forward to.

I think that is the best part of christmas being able to pick at all the yummy cakes and chocs! I used to load up on the big tins of chocs like Roses and Quality street a mixture of all different chocs. Last year I think I bought us two tins and then everyone else decided to get us the same for pressies and we ended up with about five big tins of chocs and 12 selection boxes it lasted us months! Christmas is definately my favourite treat time as I can eat without feeling guilty!

Pumpkin pie, stuffing and cranberry sauce are all delicious holiday treats. My homemade sugar cookies are also a fantastic treat, as are my chocolate chip cookies; of course, I probably won't get to make very many of those treats this year.

I make pies for Thanksgiving. Then for Christmas I like to buy candy for the stockings (even tho my kids are all grown, we still have stockings lol). I like the kisses - any flavor, m&m's, hersheys minis. And I also make the cut out sugar cookies and rice krispy treats. Last year my husband and I made fudge - that was fun so I think we'll do it again this year. Not the quick fudge but the kind you have to cook. Turned out really good. I like to give my kids each a tin of homemade goodies to take home with them.
