My Memory is Gone and So Is My Computer's --- PLEASE HELP!

My computer needs a new memory stick but I don't know how to order it. I had someone look at the computer and tell me that I needed something bigger than 256 MB. I have no idea what that means. I also would like to know if an external hard drive would be of assistance since my computer is about 3 1/2 years old. I would appreciate any help you can give.~Donna

did you get in touch with your computer company for example hp. they will tell you what to do for more memory or about your hard drive. i wouldn't do it myself for installation of these products i would have a reputable computer tech do it for you. best to you

I have no idea, but I am sure someone here will be able to help you. I had to run out when I was responding to your last post, my grandson just got here. We ha to run to the grocery store. He is 11 and is spending the night with me. We had to go get some food for dinner. We decided on some popcorn shrimp, stuffed mushrooms and fries. Some moose tracks ice cream for desert. My other grandson will probably spend the night too. We will have fun. I hope things are going good for you. Are you back home or are you still with your daughter?
