So I have a ton of CDs that I got from work that have OLD stuff on them that we don't need anymore and can't be reused for anything other than a recycled craft. I need some ideas. I'm looking for something really unique that I can do with them as either decorating my house or to give as a gift. I've looked this up a thousand times online and can't seem to find anything that serves the unique yet attractive purpose I hope that it will serve. Tips, links, ideas, anything is appreciated.

On Next Design Star (don't know if htey have that reality show anymore or not) but that was what one of the contestants did....took CD's and litterally covered a portion of the wall with the back sides so that rainbow shine would show when a light was turned on. Or maybe it was Trading Spaces. One of them! iT was kind of cool, but for me....if I did that...it'd look like I just glued CD;s on the wall!

Make a clock out of them. There are lots of pre made templates for you to use on the internet. They are simple to make and you will have a great gift for giving to someone or keeping for yourself. Here's some links that will help. http://www.ehow.com/how_2096609_make-cd-clock.html http://www.ehow.com/how_2096609_make-cd-clock.html http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/acProject?project=cdclocks&extsubcat=specialcollections&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&page=acCategoryAll&extcat=partykitsdecorations http://primsydoodledesigns.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=9_40_164

I did! I made a clock out of one of them today. It turned out very cute! THANK YOU! I also am in the process of making my wreath. I've got it all glued together now I'm finding things to embellish them with. (handmade yarn pom poms, jewels, paint, and anything else I think would make a cute empellishment)

If you crochet or sew you can make two circles cover the cd and use as a coaster or maybe pot pad. A wreath is also good.

I've read about those. I know the basics of crocheting, but don't really enjoy it.

The first thing that I thought of was making a wreath out of them. I would probably use hot glue to hold them together. You could glue other things to them as well. That is all I can really think of at the top of my head.

I didn't quite think of a wreath, but I did think about glueing them together to make an interesting piece of artwork for my wall. I like the wreath Idea too. I think I'll try that as a beginners project and add some jewels, beads, ribbon, etc. to add to the piece of art. Thank you!

ONe year for Christmas gifts, I had my grand daughters make picture frame/ornaments out of them. Cut a picture of the child in a circle about maybe half (or little less) the size of the CD. GLue it to the center of the back side of the CD so you will have that rainbow shine effect when it moves. Then make a ring of glue around the whole edge...about 1/2 inch in size from the edge, 1/2 inch inward from the edge...and cover with glitter. Let dry, shake off glitter. Now you have a CD with a picture, a rainbow shine and a glitter edge. For the hanging loop I took a piece of 1/4 inch ribbon and made a loop and glued it to the back side of the CD. All the parents and aunts loved them! You can even use them anytime of the year as a gift actually.

I saw a card that used a piece of a broken cd that had been rubber stamped on (I assume with Stazon ink) as the main embellishment. My girl friend also painted them as candies and hung them from the ceiling for her son's Willy Wonka birthday party this year. They came out really cute. I was wondering if you could heat them and make small bowls. I have also heard of people drilling holds in the them to make a mini album, too. They just glue paper and stamp over the cds.
