Hi bala..I guess there is one thing that is worth buying even now despite its skyrocketing price, and that is gold.....It is one area where Newton's law has failed....
And one area where I am forced to be calculative and stingy is the handling of electric appliances. There is a great shortage of electricity and the government has again increase the price of electricity......Even sitting under the fan makes me sweat profusely these days....and it is the thought of the impending elctricity bill...!!!!

..Oh no,Bala......I am not hoarding it....Its just that I feel its a good from of investment, when comapred to stocks and real estate.........Ironically gold as an ornament is loosing its significance to me,because of the fear of chain snatching etc...But the very thought that the gold in my bank locker is increasing in value everyday is really a thrilling thought....

Food, My daily dal roti , will have it no matter the increase and the one thing which makes us stingy and calculative is everytime there is a substantial increase in the cost of fuel.

I never mind the price it costs for my gym membership! Because the gym means a lot to me, I go five times a week and it's my leisure, it also keeps my depression down and it also keeps me healthy mentally and physically and that is worth it's weight in gold. I am stingy when it comes to paying out for the car because it's so damn expensive to run a car nowadays and I begrudge paying money, I know I need my car but they know you can't buy alternative to petrol so they have you!

Hi balasri,
I would not mind paying for food no matter how much it cost, but I would be stingy about paying the tax bill.

I am quite stingy and that is why there isn't a single thing on which I would spend without minding its price balasri. I am still studying and financially dependant on my parents. So I try not be extravagant.

Shoes and socks-I have big feet and a very high instep, wide front of foot and narrow heal. If I get something that fits my feet, I don't mind paying more because if it fits poorly, then I will spend lots of money at a foot doctor. So it actually saves money. Socks because in summer can sweat too much and cause problems, in winter can be too cold and cause problems. The right footware saves you money.
Almost everything else, I'm stingy.

Medicine and maybe basic commodities or necessities but i would tend to be more stingy with respect to luxuries or things that I really don't need. I would tend to be more stingy regarding spending for "good times" such as going out on the town or painting the town red or on weekend "unwinding activities" where i have to shoulder the bill.

shoes, sandals, bags=i dont mind them expensive as long as they are sturdy.
I become very calculative when it comes to food products in the market as they seem to be always over priced. Sometimes the sellers are not very honest with their weighing scales.
