Nielsen Ratings now taking Statistics off of TiVo

Nielsen Ratings now taking Statistics off of TiVo so if you wanna help your show NOT get canceled TiVo'ing it might help.. makes sense right?? apparently they just started to where they are pulling off the info on whats getting TiVo'd to where they can figure that in on a shows rating.. too bad i dont have a tivo lol

Oh wow... I have wanted TiVo forever! 
I wish I had it so I could tivo my shows to help with ratings! Who knows if it really helps, but it would certainly be nice! I hate how they cancel shows just because "X" amount of people don't watch. Luckily my favorite show is one of the more popular ones on network tv. With i-tunes having a lot of shows now I don't know if it would be worth getting tivo at this point, for me, because I love having my shows on there, although--it would be nice for recording all those shows I don't get on there, either because of prices(my disney channel shows are like $40-70 a season!), or because they aren't on there. I would definitely like it, but with money being so tight, I doubt it's happening anytime soon! LOL Maybe someday, if it's still around!

yeah i know i want a tivo or a dvr because my vcr broke but there isnt any money for that right now!! it would be nice to help out ratings on my shows but like you my shows are usually popular enough to make it a couple of seasons but sometimes i wonder what kind of idiot people they are trailing with the way some shows get canceled and some succeed

huh..im a member of their Homescan and Net Panels..never could figure out how to get on their tv one though.
we dont have a TiVO..which sucks, but shoot it comes down to which can we afford...DirecTv or the Tivo..and since i like having something to watch..Directv gets it lol!
actually..i didnt think THAT many ppl have TiVo..just kind of figured it was something the upper echelon had.

i did both of those too lol.. apparently you have to be asked by nielsen to be a nielsen family so you cant just get signed up for it.. i have no idea how they pick them but i wish they would pick me!!
i thought tivo was on its way out honestly.. maybe it still is or will always be not as popular but it just happened to strike a deal with nielsen or something..
i want a dvr or tivo or something because my vcr is dying but i cant afford it either.. if it didnt have a monthly cost to be with my cable i could hope i get one for xmas or earn one with surveys or some miracle but i dont think i will be able to afford the extra monthly fee for awhile.. but i can dream lol
