Fighting

Last night I was out having a few drinks (of cola as I was driver) and one of the guys I was with got hit by a packet of crisps that some guy randomly threw. My friend (who'd had a few drinks) then started eyeballing this guy and really wanted to fight him as he didn't apologise. I tried to calm him but ended up getting told as I was female I didn't understand!! Anyways they started squaring up to each other so I stood between them and after a few heated words and a bit of pushing each other, the other guy walked away. Now in my opinion the guy who walked away was more of a man to me for walking away rather than fighting. My friend on the other hand say it made him a wimp for walking away. I would like to know what you guys think?

It is not very often that a fight is avoided by someone walking away and you are right the other person was the better man for doing so. In todays age fights are not just fights they end up being worse than that so he definately did the right thing. It is horrible when drink makes people want to fight every small thing seems like a major insult!

I'd do the same if i were the other guy. Fighting will not prove me as a man, it will only cause me physical pain (if I'm unfortunate to be defeated in a browl! lol!). I guess it's only part of man's human nature to be tough, like in the jungle, the stronger always win... and live for the next day. It is good you were there to calm things down and be of help to your friend from being beaten up, not only by the other guy but also by his friends, who maybe are around, waiting for the start of the fight!

Thank you. Yeah, his friend tried to say exactly the same as you and gave me a lecture about how I should have let my other friend go for this guy and I got some tale about how I should have let him be a hunter and protect his reputation, lol. Love drunken spiel. I stood in front of them without thinking to be honest, I have never done this before so was pretty shaken up after. Glad I did it though.
