OK, last night I had my appointment to get all my hair cut off to donate to Locks of Love. I knew it was going to be short, and it IS! But, it'll definitely grow back and in another 18 months I'll be able to donate it again... For those of you who did not see my "before" picture, my hair was down to about the bottom of my shirt.

That is so wonderful that you continue to grow your hair out and then donate it to locks of love. It really isn't short, but compaired to how long it was, it will probably take you some time to get use to it. I have very short hair! It wasn't by choice at all. I went to get my hair layered and I said, long layers and ended up with a short boystyle hair cut. I wore a hat for the first month until it grew out a little bit and I got use to it. I really hate it. Your hair is shorter for a good cause. Good for you.

The hardest part is when I brush it... My hand keeps going way past the time I run out of hair!!! It does look nice though, and it does grow pretty quickly, that's a good thing.

It is probably healthier now too. It will grow fast and you will get use to it.

Fortunately my hair is pretty healthy - not many split ends after 18 months... My stylist also tells me all the time how fast my hair grows! In about a week I'll have it the length I "like" it when it's short, but I'll keep letting it grow again.

There are certain chemical treatments that they don't like the hair to have. Coloring and perming are ok, but I think that's it. Some of the other things you do to your hair make it impossible for them to make wigs out of.

I am still putting it off . My hubby just looked sick when he saw Matties hair the first time right after I cut her hair to get ready to send it in. I need to get mine done so we can get it mailed . I think it is wonderful that you are continuing to do this. I think i am about to get Aarika convinced to go ahead and do it as well . She wants to get hers cut before Sophia is born . maybe she will have enough cut off to send in.

My hubby wasn't that thrilled, but knows why I'm doing it. It'll grow back!!! I remember the first time I donated, my sister and my neice all went in at the same time. It was really cool. Then last year or so my nephew had to get his hair cut for his job and I couldn't beleive he didn't donate it! He had georgous hair!

Don't fret over the length of your hair. I remember when I got mine cut. It took me a while to get used to it being short. My brush strokes needed to be less too. Often I would try to brush what was no longer there!

I know the brush will go flying a couple times because I'm used to brusing so much more hair. But it does go away quickly and in a week I'll be totally used to it again.

It looks pretty nice actually, and I would not say that it was that short as it is perhaps about an inch or so shorter than mine. Mind you for you it would feel super short with it being so long! But well done and you did it for a worthy cause.

It's taking some getting used to, and it'll grow out again soon enough!

Hi reiny! I wish I had thick beautiful hair like you do! It looks beautiful! It looks so much more healty and shiny now! It is even and I would give anything to have hair like yours. I have thin, curly, dry hair. I don't know what to do with it. It keep shedding really badly. I may need a wig soon and I'm not kidding. If I cut it in layers it looks really short because it shrivels up. If I leave it the way it is, it is so thin and unheathy. I wish it was thick and beautiful like you have! You did an amazing thing for some lucky little child! You should be so proud! First the walk and now your hair! You will be so blessed!

My hair has usually been pretty healthy, but it's even been more so since I've started using natural products on it and since I've switched my vitamin regimine. Hey, growing hair and walking are easy things for me, I'll keep doing those as long as I can!

Hehe, you should have seen my hair the one time. It was so short, and then a week later or so I shaved my head! To me your hair still looks long. Even though right now my hair is about halfway down my back.

One of my friends had cancer recently and had to have chemo. I considered shaving my head, but then I thought it would be better to just keep growing my hair out so that I could donate it again since it was already fairly long at that point. I didn't end up seeing her much in person anyway and she didn't mind being bald as much as she thought she would. She's doing great now and that's what matters to her far more than her hair. She bought a wig but didn't even wear it.

I have heard that the wigs are pretty hot... I mean heat wise...

I almost shaved my head once when a friend was faced with cancer treatments. Fortunately, it wasn't cancer and they were able to treat her without chemo. Everyone in the office was ready to get their head shaved for her though!

I think that it is wonderful that you did that of cutting you hair to donate it.It looks medium lenght to me.Not short.LOL.I have my hiar length about a little past my shoulder and that is how I cut it no shorter and I dont get it cut until about 3 months as with kids it is a task to do that.I have a couple of layers in mine to think my hair out as my hair is thick.

Everyone always says this isn't short, but for me it is :) I have layered it in the past to thin it out a bit, but I didn't do it this time, I'll see how it goes for a while... I might decide to change it later.

You have really beautiful hair, reinydawn. Nice cute. I gotta say, I don't look at it and think "short hair cut".

What use to get me when I would fist get my hair cut from that long is when brushing it I would run out of hair before I would expect to. It would make the brush jerk.

I love the new haircut but to be honest for me that is not short. hahaha Your hair grows fast if you will be able to donate again in 18 months. For me when I want my hair long it takes forever to grow and when I cut mine short it seems to want to grow faster than I want it to. hahaha Again I applaude you for donating to Locks of Love.

It's so funny, but people with short hair get their hair cut every few weeks or so. Even when I kept my hair a shorter long length (yeah, that made no sense) I only cut the ends off every 3 months or so. Now I don't get the scraggly split ends like I used to so I don't even cut it every 3 months, just when I'm donating it.

Were you walking around feeling light headed lolz?? Because that is bound to happen when you chop off a large amount of your hair =P you go around feeling like your head is floating... you feel lighter =P oh well at least you can trick the scale a little bit hehehehe... (i used to but then i knew the scale was the one tricking me =P ) It's nice that you have the intention to do it all over again =) i saw your before picture but your hair looks different or is it just me? seemed to be wavy in the first now looks reaaaal straight!

It is wavy in the first one, but I took a blow dryer to it in the second - that straightens it out for me. When it's long it takes FOREVER to blow dry it so I usually just let it go by itself. Oh, and the scale didn't even notice the difference.
