Have you been tried to be questioned with somethin' that you honestly do not know the answer? What's the best answer for a question like that? - Huh?! - I do not know. - I'l give you a call later. - What's that? - WTF

No comment or No response would be the best option to say, when you have nothing to say..

Or, just not responding to an discussion will also be the best option.. Don't leave a statement, if you really don't know what to say..

No, it is not disrespectful if you don't know what to say. It is disrespectful to answer a question that you have no knowledge of.

In that particular instance the best answer would be to be honest and say that you honestly do not know. There is nothing wrong with not knowing an answer to a question. It would be unfair to the person asking the question is you gave them an incorrect or false answer.

The best answer is usually: "I don't know that - let's find out together!" I suppose if the person is busy or unwilling to help in the research, the next best answer is: "I don't know, but I'll find out and let you know."
