Today I was out front raking my leaves when I saw my neighbor with a few boxes etc. He came over to chat for a bit. First words from his mouth were, "Thank you Bob. I saw your house all lit up last night and now I am in the spirit of the holidays." Well it turns out those boxes etc were his decorations for poutdoors. This is the tree he sets out each year. I can not recall him having them up this early either. Seems people love m,y spirit and all comes the holidays after all.
So do you like to, or have you ever spread the Holiday spirit this way at all?

No I have never spread the holiday spirit. Even when my kids were young and still lived at home my husband was the first one on our block to hang up all the Christmas decorations. And not one person on our block put decorations up.

Christmas is not widely celebrated in this predominantly muslim country and the christmas spirit is not really felt yet except for the shopping malls who have already put up nice decorations to entice christmas shoppers. As a christian, I celebrate christmas and would only start the ground breaking of decorating the house come 1st December.

Amajority of people actually start decorating around Thanksgiving here in the States it seems. I start early to avoid the cold etc outdoors putting the lights up.

We have yet to do anything for christmas yet, have ordered a few gifts on line.
Our town's christmas lights get switched on end of nov which is a good time for us. Need to think about daughter's 20th birthday first and then get in the christmas mood

Hello Grandpa Bob. The little lights do spread the Christmas spirit. Here in China when Spring Festival comes, quite a few families put on their lanterns hanging on the door, especially in the country as well as cities. The red lanterns make us feel good and make the festival atmosphere stronger. Happy Christmas, Grandpa Bob.

Hi there Grandpa Bob. I really appreciate you and all people who start the Christmas spirit earlier (even me
as i started buying the presents for a few days now). I should say that the Christmas spirit is one of the greatest things out there as the way that makes people better (those who believe in Christmas anyway).

Bob, you never know who you will effect with your spirit! Great that you have inspired your neighbor to get out and decorate early this year. Maybe the two of you will spread the Christmas cheer to the rest of your neighborhood early this year. We don't decorate outside, but I'm planning on putting my Christmas tree up in the house right after Thanksgiving this year so we can enjoy it! I 'plan' on doing it every year like we did when the kids were home, but I fool around and get it up perhaps the week before Christmas.

Hi GRANDPA BOB,
I don't put my tree up till the third week of Christmas, here people don't put up their decorations till later but some do.

I am the spreader of the Christmas Spirit this year. I found a Christmas tree at a rummage sale last week so I brought it home with intentions of just salvaging the pine off of it to make a Christmas wreath for the outside of the house and to my surprise it was a beautiful tree. Bigger than the two I have and about 50 strands of lights were in the box (and they all work too!) All of this for a big 20 bucks.
So that entailed me putting it up and didn't want to take it back down so I went ahead and decorated it. My husband was so thrilled when he came in from work!(uh-huh right)
So that made me proceed to go to my moms house tonight and put hers up and sis called and said she put hers up yesterday so we are really early this year! All because of a rummage sale! LOL
I still have some other things to do but this is the earliest I have ever started!
Happy Holidays!

A great deal I'd say.
The artificial tree I've used for a while is also a garage sale buy.
Thanks for spreading cheer as well.
I love it.

My mother is the one who usually initiates the setting up of decorations here but it is us, the kids, who get all excited as early as september and remind all our relatives about the coming holidays. It has even gotten to me when I moved out to college and september came and I announced to my dormmates how excited I was for christmas. The announcement I made had them thinking the same way afterwards. They were actually even making plans for the holidays! It was really fun to have been able to spread out my love for the christmas season to others =)

When I get in the mood for the Holidays yeah I can spread it especially if I am chirpy about it. I have been wanting to drag my new tree out first white one I have ever owned and see what it would look like all together it is also one of the prelite ones so I don't even have to untangle lights.Well for the tree anyhow.

I would like to but not usually. Last year we didn't even put up a tree. This year is going to be different though. We are doing tree and lights and the whole deal. I am excited about it. My husband was never one to like to do all that stuff, but now that our daughter is old enough to understand he is excited about it too.
Your house looks amazing with all your lights and decorations. My mom does the same thing and since we spent Christmas at my parents house, I get to enjoy it too.
