Is life imprisonment enough for rapist?

What's your comment on this guys? Here in our place, there are so many rape cases but i've only heard one rapist got the lethal injection, so many where just prisoned for a lifetime. And I think life imprisonment is enough. Is death penalty an inhuman act?
