When I was younger, my friends and I constantly pretended to change our names - I always wanted to be anything but Kelly - sometimes I was Samantha, other times I was Mandy, I just never liked the name that I was given. If you could change your first name, what would it be?

I Love My Name! - But despite the names I want, I still like my real name. I'll give you a clue,,,BELIEF
I would change it to, Sophia Cassandra. I like that name very much that even in my pseudonym in some of my journals and some activities that I don't want my real name to be displayed, I use that often. That is my English Name but if given a chance to also change it to a Chinese name, I'll take Zhay Wu! As if I'm the little sister of the actor Daniel Wu. But anyway, I just love it.

I remember me and my friends used to do this when we were in high school. and the name i chose then was jasmine. but if i had another chance to change it, maybe it'll be the name i gave to my youngest - carrie justine. i love the girly and boyish sound into it. sometimes people think justine or her nickname cj is associated with a boys name

My parents were going to name me Cynthia. I'm so glad they didn't! I like my nickname which is shelly. So I guess if I would change my real name, shelly would be it!

I would have liked to have my first name Alexander. This name has always been elegant, respectful, and strong. If I would have had a son, his name would have been Alexander.

My mother managed to choose the most popular girl's name of the year when she named me, and I grew up having to share my name with at least three and sometimes as many as six other girls in my grade, so I would have changed it for -anything- less common when I was a kid. Since she immigrated to the U.S. when she was a little girl, she picked an "American" name for me. True to contrariness, I would have given anything for a "real Italian" name like Angelina or a totally different name like Desiree. These days, I'm very happy with the name that I was given, even though I spell it in a way that my mother never imagined. What's really funny is that I went out of my way to choose names that were not on the "most popular names" list for all of my kids - and darned if everyone else my age didn't do the same thing. My daughter Cara and my daughter Emilee have always had at least one other girl in their class with the same name (but spelled differently). Go figure!
