I read somewhere that something like 75-80% of people like either Elvis or the Beatles (the other 20-25% either like both or neither). So, where do you fit in? Elvis, the Beatles, or are you in the minority? I really have never understood the allure that is Elvis. I have always been a Beatles fan. British invasion in general, actually. The Beatles, the Stones, the Monkees, the Who....etc.

Elvis Presley was a great singer. He was among the firsts artists to achieve fame worldwide, but he was unable to assimilate it and that fame eventually destroyed him. The Beatles, however, were not only good singers but also excelent composers. Virtually they invented the pop style as we know it. And not only the pop style but also other musical styles that are triumphing throughout the world nowadays. So I prefer The Beatles.

One certified Beatle fan here! :) Though this band called it quits before I was even born, their music lives on. They, in fact, have been musical influences to some of the bands today. I love their songs.. from the simple love songs, "Michelle", "Love me do" to thought-provoking ones, "Fool on the Hill", "Eleanor Rigby". Who knows, if i have lived during the 60s, i might be one of the screaming fans in their concerts! :D That is not to say though that I hate Elvis. ;) Peace to all Elvis' fans!
