do you love reading/writing fanfics?

Though I cross post my works to that site I tend to avoid it for reading purposes. I find that over half are not well written (shoddy storytelling and lack of plot) and can even be hard TO read (bad grammar and sentence structure). I prefer a forum or community to read as the odds of finding good works is higher. MY personal favorite is joining the proper Livejournal communities and reclists. The quality of writing on LJ seems to be much better (or I just don't seem to see the bad stuff).
