I presently use liquid detergent. And I love to. When I was younger and living with my grandmother, we would always use powder detergent to wash our clothes in. As I have gotten older, I now use liquid. It goes easy on the laundry. Using the powder, sometimes, used to leave a cake like residue on my clothing after they have finished washing.. That was when I first learned how to properly wash clothes. So, what do you use, the powder or the liquid?

We have someone in our house who comes to wash our clothes. Well, she uses a detergent bar to wash the clothes. For the white colored ones, she uses a powder soap. She usually soaks the white colored ones for about 30 minutes. Well, I really don't know if there are any advantages to using powder or liquid.

I use liquid detergent now; I used to have the same problem as you, having those clumps of detergent powder stucked in the washing machine. However, if I'm hand-washing, I use powder instead.

I use liquid as I use Era and Era does not make a powder detergent. I have tried Tide before but it does not get the grease stains out of my husbands clothes like Era does. I did use Dreft powder baby detergent when my daughter was a baby though I washed her clothes seperate from ours.

We used powder to wash our clothes in, find it ok. We have used liquid in the past but it does cost more than the powder. We use the value washing powder and fabric conditioner, just as good as the branded ones. I do an awful lot of washing in our house

It depends, sometimes we use the powder, sometimes we use the liquid. We've been using the liquid more often. I think it's easier to use. You just pour it into a cup and then pour it into the wash. The other stuff requires getting your hands rather dirty and I hate that.

I use liquid detergent too, we used to use powder detergent when I was younger growing up, and like you, it would always leave powdery stuff on our clothes and I didn't like that. I know sometimes the powder is cheaper than the liquid but it works much better.

Few years back, I used powder in washing our clothes. I even experience using the bar laundry soap because i wash by hands before. It cleans better than the washing machine can do. But when I became very busy with work and washing by hand takes time, I used the washing machine and put powder detergent in it. But now, I used liquid detergent. It is more convenient and cheapest to use.

I like to use liquid because that way I know that all of the detergent will be dissolved. When I was using the powder sometimes on the colored clothes there would be a white residue left behind even after going through the rinse cycle twice. With the liquid there is no need to worry about white residue.

I prefer to use the liquid detergent. It seems less messy to me. If I have to I will use the powder but I don't like it as well. I try to buy my detergent on sale or when I have a coupon so I don't have to pay full price for it. So that makes a difference too but most of the time, I buy the liquid.

I hate using the powder because it never fails when I have to use it that it leaves a powdery white residue on some of my clothing. So I buy liquid 99.9% of the time. I know some might not have that problem if they use warn or hot water but I use only cold water to wash clothing in. It conserves energy and is considered the "green" thing to do nowadays.

I usually use powder. But if i find a good deal on liquid I will use it. I am really not picky about it. I would rather save money and get whats cheaper than worry about whether its powder or liquid.

Hi there Cream. I use powder detergent to wash cloths manually and so does my other when she does them with the washing machine. When i do wash some socks or underwear manually i usually let them for a few hours in water with detergent so that it makes it easier to wash them; i then mix them very well with fresh water so that i make sure that there is no detergent left on the cloths.

I like the liquid the best, but my mother usually buys the laundry detergent and she always buys powder. If I buy it myself I buy the liquid. It doesn't have to dissolve.

I prefer to use liquid laundry detergent. I grew up using it and have just contiued on into my adult life doing the same. Besides, for me, it is just easier. Now, with that said, I do occassionally have to use powder when I am doing laundry for someone else, and that it what they buy. I have found that when using powder, it is best to alwas dissolve it in water before loading clothes to help reduce the chances of the powder sticking to clothes.
