This weekend I was making homemade chocolate designs by putting chocolate into molds. But I was wondering instead of buying the chocolate to melt is there a way to make chocolate? Do you use Coco and sugar?
I'm curious because I think in the long run it would save money. And the bags to melt cost from $2.00 to $3.00 a 14 oz bag.
So if anyone knows how to make it please let me know...

Hmm. . .we have made chocolate before in my chemistry class and I believe we used cocoa powder (not to be confused with hot chocolate mix. .), a few sticks of butter, and some sugar. If I recall correctly, we melted the butter in the pan we were using in class, then added the coco and sugar. Then we stirred until it got all thick and gooey. Not sure if we added anything else but that's what I remember. Then after we were done making our chocolate, we poured it on some vanilla ice cream we brought to class and it was really good. (: Hope this helps.

Chocolate comes in many different colors. Go to a candy making store or Michale's. Walmart also sales some. Theres are called candy melts. To make the lolliepop all you need to do is melt the chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave. If you do it in the microwave place it in for a few seconds and then stir. Keep doing this until it is melted. Make sure you get the bottom good so it doesn't burn. After you melted the chocolate poor it into your molds and then place the lollipop sticks in the mold. Place in freeze until they harden. You should be able to just turn the mold over and they will come out. Also if you wanted to add details to the lollipop you could buy other colors and use a paintbrush or toothpick to add details. Do not use a regular food coloring as suggested above me. It will ruin your candy. You need to buy a oil-based color that is made for candy. Also if you put to much in it can stain your tongue and give the candy a bitter taste. I would buy the candies that are already blue.

Actually I've already made the chocolates like that. I'm wondering how you can make chocolate it's self. The chocolate that you buy at Michaels or Walmart or even AC Moore is costly and I'm trying to figure out a way that it's cheaper to make.
So do you know how to make the chocolate it's self? without buying it ready to melt?
