how do you know if the teacher thats teaching your child is qualified?

we are having a lot of young teachers these day some ask is she the student are the teacher.a lot young teachers is not wanting to deal with a difficult child are as they call it a problem child.i personally being the teacher first of my child feels there is no such thing as a problem child.sure some kids may are maynot be difficult at times but for a teacher not wanting to deal with it without calling the mother all the times for meeting about the child behavior are she feels the child needs to be in special ED and not in regular classes.it,s sort of like pushing that child a side because the teacher has encountered this child is difficult are has a problem ,so she just refuse to deal with the child and teach him. most students in these special ed classes don,t have home work are any assignment to do. i know some students, say they sleep all day.is this what we want for our child just because he or she is in special ED.i rather for my child to repeat the class then to be pushed a head knowing full well he need more help to pass. what do you think?

in canada they have to be licensed and qualified so that is never an issue. However if children have behavior issues etc, they are special needs children and may need a specially trained teacher.

don,t you think they should specially train all teacher to deal with these issues.most kids in speacial ed do not succeed because they need extra help some of the children go to sleep because the teacher don,t teach them as they should.these same children have to learn to get along and have familys and many other things.i think wether they are qualified are not most teacher back in the day didn,t put kids in special ed they dealt with the problem and tried to reach that child.thank ou for sharing

you have never been a teacher to know how hard it is,
it is hard with normal kids, with no problems if you have just one child that is special needs they can disrupt the entire class and nobody learns.
They children need special help and that is why they are in special classes but that does not mean they can or ever will learn like a normal child,
it depends on what their problem is. Teachers are not miracle workers, they do the best they can, but they cannot help everyone,
if the kids are brain damaged so bad that they will have problems with any teacher. I know many hard working good special ed teachers who try their hardest to reach some of these kids, but they cannot get through to them, this almost break their hearts.

iam the first teacher the teaching starts at home when most teacher come upon a difficult child they tent to not want to teach that particular child i have dealt with difficult children all my life and i stay in the school system just to see hoew things worked it wasn,t anything for me to pop up all because when a child tell you mom the teacher treat me differnt when you are not there this is why i was poping up all the time to see what he&& was going on.there are some good teacher out there but as you well know one bad apple can spoil the whole show.thank

I have a few cases of students where I feel that I have failed to educate certain students. I have taken light measures such as sending a note to parents, writing in their diary a note to their parents, but still their bad behaviour persists. Sometimes you find parents who back their children's behaviour. When I see that the only measure that works to safeguard my job and the rest of my class is to take drastic measures even given an exclusion (with the head's permission) to the mischievous student.

here you don,t have a choice because the parents need to be apart of their childs life and if they don,t try to help to fix this problem you as a teacher hands are tied.you have no choice.

iam glad you post this question this is so true the teacher are getting younger and younger and they half the time do not want to teach children with problems are need special help. i remember when i was in school i needed help i was dumb just need my teacher to help me understand what it was she was trying to teach me.she start calling my parents instead of teaching me until i understood.i think thes young teacher are lazy if you going to teach then teach.

i do agree if you are a teacher teach don,t whine when there is a problem we are going to have problems all our lives we have to deal with.some kids are hyperactive and needs special care but not medication and someone to understand them and help then simmer down.their are so many kids on medication in school it,s a shame.some of this medication affect the child like speeding up their heart and alsort symtoms.thank for sharing

this is true there are a lot student put in special ed that set there all day and as you said don,t have home work are they feel down because the teacher can,t find the time to teach them.i don,t think the teacher today are nothing like the teacher back then who really teached the kids and you hardly ever heard anything about a diffucult child are problem child the teacher dealt with the situation at hand.parents did have to keep running back and forward to the school because they don,t want to teach the child.the teacher is getting younger and younger do this make them qualified are olde enough to teach a child themself they really don,t have a lot of experience with kids but older teacher do.

well it,s just really hard for the child especially if the teacher dont have time to teach them because they are slow are not quite ready yet.use to be they use to the the child repeat the class if they feel the child is not ready not the student is set a side and put in special ed class what do these treacher really doing are they giving them home work to prepare them for the future are is they already written off before they get a chase.thank you for sharing
