Hi,friends! This appearance happened once in two week ago, after I restart it,it retruned to normal again. So I didn't keep it in my mind. But today,it happened twice!I searched the answer on net but it seems that there are many likelihoods which can lead to black screen.
My situation is:when I power on my laptop,it seems all the programs are running, because I can hear the music which start when I power on it.And after I restart it,the computer will check the hard disk automatically! And after that everything return to normal. So do you think the graphics card is bad?Or should I reinstall the system?

Hi,rytnlxm. It's hard to tell what causes your screen going black.I don't know exactly what you mean by saying"I can hear the music"here.Does that means although your laptop can start up and entry into the operation system, there's nothing but black on your screen? If so, when this happens, try external monitor and you'd better connect your laptop vendor for help if your machine is still in arranty .Or your can reinstall the system and upgrade your graphics card drivers to see whether things will go well.By the way,is your graphics car a nvidia G84/G86 based one?All those mobility graphics cards based on G84/G86 have issues.

Hi,there.I can not express myself well in English, but you have get my meaning. My laptop will play the music when I power on it.So I think it can entry into the operation system although the screen is black. And my graphics card is not based on G84/G86,maybe I really need to reinstall the system.
Thank you for your quick response.
Have a nice day.

Unfortunately,I think your notebook has got some hardware problems which might not be sloved by reinstalling OS. : (Anyway try it, and I do hope I'm wrong.

It could be possible that the monitor cable between your monitor and the motherboard is loose. This is usually due to wear and tear.
Is the laptop still under warranty?
If it is, bring it in to get the cable changed and all should be fine.
Otherwise, you may want to bring it to some reliable, local repairman to get the cable fixed.
