I was passing these two guys inside this huge household goods store the other day as HE was just telling HER that the idea of storing sox in a plastic box is so bad because of the solar effect, that appears inside any plastic box, will just make the sox stinky. now, I have to say that the guy (HE) kind of left me with an open mouth sort-of-speak, as I found what he just had said as totally devastating news. can anyone lift the ignorance off my brains and clear things out, please?

I don't exactly understand your question. Are you asking if the sun damages your socks? Are you asking if you put socks in a plastic container, does the green-house effect damage socks?

No, noreligion - sorry for the repetition. I am asking what I've written: if the 'solar effect' (as the guy said) inside a plastic box can damage your laundry (e.g. your sox) and make it stink. I know it sounds rather inexact and thus confusing, but I am only repeating what I've heard.
