Getting serious at work...

Hi guys. Well I came to a conclusion over the weekend that's going to have me not on myLot (or anywhere else on the internet) as much during work hours. I'm having so much fun here but I am just not getting as much work done and I need to get some serious work done for a change. I need to set limits on my internet time, so that's what I'm doing. I usually get on during breaks and lunch and when checking e-mail first thing in the morning and I find that I can't make myself get off smoetimes. So I have put reminders all over my calendar to shut things off at certain times and hopefully I will listen to myself! Sorry if I won't see you around as much. Maybe I can get on more in the evening! Signing off in 4 3 2 1 ...

hahahah, signing off huh!!yeah i truly understand that we cant just face the computer all day, we should have life and we have life beside from this, eventhough we really enjoy it here, i just think we should do more rather than this and that is the acutla works!!happy lotting and we'll miss your posts!!

ohhh ok!!hmmm, i really feel bad right now!!cause even if i love to posts and respond more now on mylot, i cant because of my eyes, i dont want to take my eyes for granted, it really hurts now, and also my back!!

I understand exactly Dawn. I've been known to sit here willing the screen to push up just one more notification such is my addiction. I have had to adopt a whole new regime to give me fair access and retain my sanity. I had to engage the services of a friend to send me to bed as I was going too late. It is possible to exist without it for whole minutes at a time without coming back! LOL. I wish you well in your new programming!

Isn't it funny how we tell ourselves that we are going to do things other then something like this and we just continue doing it. I think it is an addiction. I do not get the chance to come on every day but when I do come on I just get carried away.

I have all these reminders on my online calendar, now I only allow myself to have my browser open certain times of day. So I'm getting more done if not quite as much as I would like.

I'm sorry, but it's probably for the best. I can't get on at work except for the computers in the break room but I rarely use them sometimes there full and they are kinda slow plus I am a smoker so that takes up most of my time.

Same here my friend, if I start reading my emails, sometimes I forgot that I have actually some other things to do, which is more important that the internet. But what can we do, if the internet is up, then get the most out of it, LOL...

Aweee you'll be missed but why... why would you want to spend more time at a job that pays your bills stay here... stay on mylot (this is the devil within me speaking lol)
Best of luck in your attempt to spend less time online ;) it can be addictive so i do understand the need for any person who wants to try and pull back a bit to try and tend to their responsibilities... don't they have a MA for something like that? (Mylotters Autonomous -- hehe)

Good luck with forfilling your quest.Right now I do not have a working computer at home.However,when I did I would leave the computer on and in between tasks I would stop at the computer and take a few minute break online.

Evenings is the only time I can mylot,I dont have access to a computer at work so I come here after work,today I have the day off so I got here a little earlier.See you later!Have a great day.

You're lucky to be able to sign in during work. I work at a bank, so I can access the internet, but only for financial websites. They have most other sites blocked, so I cannot even log on at all.
I wish I could log in because some days at work, like Thursdays, tend to be incredibly slow, and at least I could be entertaining myself and making a few cents to boot.

I understand what you mean because I'm like that, If I don't set limits to my internet time I don't have much work to do, like one saturday, I just find myself infront of the computer for the whole day, I only left when I ate.

I take the same mehtod like you. I can access to the Internet in the office, and I sign in mylot during the break so that I can deal with my work without any delay.

Oh I understand. Your work and home life comes first before online fun. Just try and enjoy yourself and don't feel a bit of regret. Thank you for letting us know. Taht reminds me I need to get some work done around this while my kids are gone and I can do it in piece. Lol.

Real money is my day job, so I'm going to try and restrict my breaks to acceptable parameters. Should be getting a notify in about 10 minutes saying "get off the internet and get back to work." lol
