What will you do if a technician, who, instead of fixing you cell phone, actually broke it and then, he never assume responsiblity for the event and never express remorse of any kind? Geez, I think this is the most depressing day for me, cell phone wise. You see, I have my share of cell phones since it became a necessity, i had 4 or 5 different models but then I felt really comfortable using this cell phone (Nokia N90) I had this cell phone since early 2006, i love it though it is very heavy and difficult to navigate especially if you only have one free hand. It was the first problem i encountered with this fone. I took care of this fone for so long and i know for a fact that it was never mishandled, it did not fall off or anything. so given everything was working fine since i noticed i've been texting and calling incorrectly, sometimes, i dial a wrong number, other times, i compose my messages incorrectly. Lately, i found out that the keypad was malfunctioning. So i brought the cell phone to a "licensed technician"... When i handed the tech my fone, the only problem was, the keypad... then everything went wrong. As he was about to open the front cover of my fone, where the keypad was attached, i noticed he really was having a hard time opening it. and so he asked "Is this the first time you fone will be opened?" the i nodded and then he said "that's why it is so hard to open.." 30 minutes have passed and still he was not able to open the keypad loading thing of my fone, so i decided to ask him if he can do it. he said "i have done so many things like this in the past don't worry. it's just hard to open coz it's the first it will be opened." so he continue on but during that moment, i was thinking i don't want him to do it anymore.. huhuhuhu.. Then finally it popped and then the front cover of my fone was broken, he accidentally ran over the little screw driver through the screen of the fone, it had a big crack near the screen. i felt so shocked, my jaw dropped. the tech DID NOT SAY ANYTHING. HE CONTINUED WORKING AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED, BUT OBVIOUSLY, THE HOUSING OF MY FONE WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN. 3 minutes have passed and then he said, "it's done, look at the keypad, it functioning again". i told him "What about the screen and the housing, you broke it?" i asked calmly. He answered "the keypad cleaning is $8 and the housing will cost $80 but since we don't have a stock at hand, you may leave your fone and come back for it after 2 to 3 weeks, coz it takes that long for our suppliers to delive the items needed for replacement". Out of curiosity, i asked again "i will pay the $88?" he answered," yes of course that would be $88 and $25 for the labor." I THOUGHT WHAT??? YOU BROKE IT AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT? THE CLEANING SERVICE FOR THE KEYPAD COSTS ONLY $8, THEN I HAVE TO PAY OVER A 100 COZ YOU MISHANDLED MY FONE? Geez, this really sucked. being the push-over that i am, i just went home crying with my broken fone. there after, i also noticed that there is no connection available, meaning the antenna was also screwed up. What do you think I should do or what should i have done? Thanks for your time.

That was a sad story. Question, where did you brought you fone for service? If it was done in a mall or service center, try to talk to the management. For a faster action, I suggest you make a written complaint. I hope you got the name of the person who handled your fone.

Small claims court? Or speak to the management of the store/service center he was working...

I'd try not to pay, but unfortunately in most cases you get stuck paying. I had an oil change on my car once that cost me a lot before they tightened things too tight and stripped parts of my car that later had to be replaced. That's why I make my brother fix my electronics and change my oil. I wouldn't even trust my iPod to the Apple people, I had my brother fix it when it stopped working.
