Avoiding horse poop

Friday I was driving to work. I often take this little country road instead of the freeway. Not that traffic is usually a problem, not at all. I just like the country drive. I was just coming past a housing tract and into the area that's not developed when I saw that traffic was at a stop. I really thought it was because there was something wrong on the freeway and that I was going to have a long drive in to work. Well the property on either side is owned by a ranch and it is not at all uncommon to see either cattle or horses. This particular morning the horses had gotten out and were in a field on the side of the road that wasn't fenced in. But they weren't on the road or in any particular danger as long as they stayed where they were, so I wondered why the traffic had stopped. That's when I came around the bend and saw a large pile of horse poop in the road. The cars were oh so slowly driving around the horse poop instead of over it. I laughed all the way to work about that one!

Yes this indeed an incident to laugh at. Sometimes people behave in such a funny way, one wonder that are they having some wisdom.

You should have stopped and picked it up Dawn. That stuff is great for the garden.

You put it in the plastic sack that you keep in the car for such eventualities.

Oh yeah and have it sit in the car all day while I'm at work. Brilliant idea!

aha must remind myself to put plastic sack in car.... Of course if it ever happens that I actually need it, husband will most likely have cleaned the car out!

laughter - ha ha ha laughter is the best medicine!
Just the title of this discussion made me laugh never mind seeing what you did. I may not have made it to work on time for having to stop driving because I was laughing so hard.

lol well I never quite thought of it that way, I just assumed it would have fallen off the tires by the time they got where they were going!

Lol that's funny. People do strange things don't they? Speaking of poop..I once met a person who claimed that they enjoyed the feel of stepping in cow poop in their paddock! It was at that point that I backed away slowly ;)

Which reminds me of a story. My Dad's wicked sense of humor... Had to do with my Uncle David who was in the Marine Corps band. One year he got to march in the Rose parade in Pasadena, CA. When you're in a band, and especially a marine, you stay in step. No matter what's walking ahead of you or what they drop. Well naturally they were marching directly behind horses. And my uncle stepped in a nice big, warm one. Some time after the parade my dad had a paperweight made for him, a clump of horse poop enclosed in resin. The caption read: Harmony is never side stepping duty.
