I read some reports that many companies have to cut down employees to reduce expenses and make surviving in the bad economic environment.Somehow I was a little worried about my future and guess if our company would do so.This feeling is bad and I could not focus my energy to work.Frankly I do not fear to be fired, but I do not know where to start a new job that I really like. What do you think of it?

Bad economic environment is a treat to many companies thus their first step is to cut- down expenses that may result on firing some of their employee that's the reality. Even though the possibility of being fired bothers you, it must not affect your performance in the office. This is the time you strive harder for the good and survival of your company thus reducing the possibility of being chosen as one of the employee to be fired. You said that you do not fear to be fired, that's a good attitude but you must be prepared financially and emotionally especially if you have a family to support. You must be positive that you can find job easily and immediately. Even though the doors of your company close, there are open window waiting for you.

I think right now every job has the possiblility of being eliminated. Our business was doing really well last year and then this year we have been effected by other businesses doing bad and closing. We have not laid off people yet but we have reduced hours, not replaced people that have quit and we are closing down some days around the holidays. We are doing everything we can to keep everyone working but there may come a time when we have to eliminate jobs. You would like to think your company is secure and will survive but you never know.
