I hate Route number 4!

This is a very simple route. It could not be any simpler unless it was a straight line
Yet, in spite of its simpleness, the drivers assigned to this route cannot seem to stay on schedule, or even close to the schedule! I needed to take this lovely route today, and the bus was at least a half an hour late. I'm thankful it even showed up. On the way back, I had to wait for my child to meet me so I didn't get to catch the bus I would have caught, but I watched it go by. Less than ten minutes later, the next bus (which only runs the route once per hour) drove by. How these people justify keeping their jobs when they do stuff like this just boggles my mind! The supervisors are almost always at the transfer center. What do they think when two buses show up there so close together instead of an hour apart? Do any of you have a bus that drives like this? Do you take the bus? Do you enjoy the bus?

I hate route number 4
Hey there, I"m just curious as to where route number 4 leads to? I haven't taken a bus in God knows how long. I guess it's probably been over 30 years now. The last time I passed by a bus station it made me so happy that I didn't have to bother with that kind of transportation. I'm so blessed that my hubby has given me a car and so I normally drive myself anywhere that I need to go....Happy mylotting!

Route number four goes from the city park to the county offices area (for the welfare folks), over past Walmart (for those of us that need to shop) and then to the Senior Center and then goes backwards to the city park. It's a very simple route, I have no idea why the drivers have so much trouble keeping on schedule. There are buses that go in between the two cities here that are almost always on schedule

Okay well now I see and it's probably self explanatory why the bus drivers are acting that way. They figure they are going to get paid no matter if they are on time or not particularly since there are welfare recipients involved. It's sad but that is just the way some people out there think. So many are not in this life to serve but they are simply out there trying to see what's in it for them. Good luck and God bless you with that route.........It might help if you make a few calls down to the station and write up a few reports.........best of luck!

That's why i didn't like taking a bus, i didn't enjoy a bus, i'm much more like to take a train
but i think it's better to have more frequencies bus, rather than on shcedule, it really help people so they don't get waste time

Hi fwidman, no I don't take the bus and living in the country they aren't that reliable either so when I go anywhere I go by train...that's the simplest and cheapest route for me lol...littleowl

Hi fwidman,
When I was working, II used to take a circular bus and on my way home I can be waiting for the bus for over half hour and three shows up, it used to annoy me, but most time it does goes smoothley and the buses are on time, can't really complain because they are quite frequant where I live.

I am not sure what the supervisors do at the city park. I have never spotted one, taking complaints or stoping the bus because another bus has just made someone late is not one of their duties that's for sure.
So maybe it is to chat with the drivers, since that is what I see is going on over there.
No 4 use to be simple, still simple for a bus that runs every hour. I take the bus and enjoy the bus, their schedules and drivers are something else.
Somedays I get drivers that are polite or super polite, others the drivers look like they are doing you a favor by stoping on the bus stop.
Go figure.

We live in a small village but it is on a main route so we do quite well for busses in the week ,but none on a sunday anymore and they don't start running till nine o'clock on a saturday. The buses stop running at seven thirty in evening so very resrictive for work or a social life, and that is living on a main route between maidstone and tunbridge wells two of the main towns in the southeast.
