Is a friend in need a friend indeed, or is a friend in need a pest? What sort of friends do you have? are some of them just too needy?

Interesting thoughts here. Most of the people I would consider a Friend are a Friend indeed. I do know someone from work or two from work actually that even though I like them and all, they just always seem to be too needy. I feel that in order to have Friends, and have everyone like you and want to be around you you need to be a Friend back and not always ask for things expecting them, and then getting upset when everyone turns you down as well just because you can never help pay them back or offer up things yourself.

sadly i have to say that i have no real friends. offcourse, there are people whom i talk to, but never onep for them. It can be dangerous to say everything you feel to anyone, so i am reticent in talking about this with people. Maybe someday i will find someone ready to listen to my thoughts and i will be ready to open my mind

I think friends are important for our mental health because they allow us to express emotions that can not fully be expressed elsewhere blessed be

A true friend I'll be there for,we all need a friend when life gets too much.I've had a couple of pests that always have some kind of drama going on and it's always about them, i can do without that kind.

A friend in need is OK, but a friend who constantly takes advantage of another's good nature is a pest. I will help anyone out, but once when a friend said to me late one night after I said I was going to bed "don't worry about me, I let myself because there's a program I want to watch which I will miss if I make the journey home". He had became a pest and what I said to him may get my post banned on here!. Needless to say he left and I haven't seen him since. :-)

My friends are all, and we all need to be a friend in need as we all need something sometimes. Its just that sometimes some of our friends are in more need than other friends and of what our need is

I agree we all need friends. We all have times when we are in need of help, i guess the pay off is that we help when we can, part of the circle of humanity blessed be

I have friends that I have been with for 20 or 30 or even 40 years. Those are true frinds. I have one friend she lives in Ca, I can call her anytime of day or night. if I need to talk to her she is right there. We met in High School. I have been knowing her since I was 14 yrs old actually.

I do try to help everybody that includes friends. However I try not to let others take advantage of me. If a friend is needy in frequent occasions than I will think about if he really wants a friendship or to use me for his purposes. © ronaldinu 2008

I have experienced all types. Way back in college I have friend who will always with me because she needs someone who will listen to her to help her but when I need her, she's nowhere to be found. We can say she is a user. I have all types of friends before but now I can say I have found , who will be there through thick and thin. I am successful to have found friends through happy and sad times. I don't want them to let go of me so I am giving all my time to takecare of them.
