My husband has a cold or flu or something right now and is sneezing quite a bit. That got me thinking about sneezes. They feel good, don't they? Well, I think so! LOL Isn't it horrible when you have a sneeze building up, almost there, then it goes away? It's like, MAN! You just can't wait for it to come back! Do you enjoy sneezing or am I just weird?

A perfect copybook sneeze when I want to do it actually would most definitely make my day. Nothing like having it right when you are feeling like. Terrific let go! I know someone who actually goes for elaborate preparation for sneezing. Like he wuld sit down in his couch with the music on and then with good time in hand he would insert some thread like thing or the corner of the handkerchief rolled on to make stiff anf thin and then go o sneezing! He thinks , its out of the world!

My husband has sneezing fits out of the blue with no apparent cause. He'll sneeze 10 to 20 times in a row with only a few seconds between each one. I'm sure HE doesn't like sneezing!

Okay, now THAT'S nuts! LOL I love a good sneeze but I'm not about to try and bring one on! They do feel very exhilarating, though. Maybe that's what your friend is going for. My mother's buildup to a sneeze would sometimes go on for a full minute, then she'd let out this tiny little, "chew!" We always laughed at her sneezes. She'd laugh, too, of course!

You're just weird mentalward! Just kidding! LOL I don't like sneezing, but I hate it even worse when it is building up and it is almost there and then it goes away. It's so darn painful, much worse than if I would have sneezed! Oh, that is very annoying indeed! Being sick is no fun. I hope your husband feels better soon!

Thanks, sacmom. He's feeling worse, actually. I scowled at him last night and told him he has to see the doctor! (Scowling is serious stuff for me! LOL) He's definitely got an infection going on. He promised me he'd see the doctor today. We'll see! He's still going in to work, though. It's a shame since he can usually work from home but lately has had to be at a jobsite every day. They're having serious programming problems and he's the man to fix it. Poor thing! If you feel a sneeze brewing but just won't come and you know it has to, look at a bright light (not at the sun, of course). It almost always brings that sneeze out. See? I'm a sneeze expert! Not sure if that's a good thing, though.

I always do enjoy sneezes in the context of your's.It always feels good to be done away with it and attend to our work than prowling around with a funny twitching face with a sneeze that is on limbo threatening everyone in sight.

Sorry this response took so long in coming but, better late than never, right? Anyway, I had a good chuckle at your response: the twitching face with a sneeze that is on limbo threatening everyone in sight. Too funny and SO TRUE! LOL

They can be pleasureable - if they don't happen too often! Well, maybe not the moment after, but pretty quick.

I tell people that my dad was allergic to mornings. Every morning he'd get up and sneeze. Not once, not twice, but over and over and over - puctuated with the occasional swear word.

That's VERY true! Sneezing with a cold is not too pleasant... okay, not pleasant at all. My husband has these sneezing fits every so often where he'll sneeze like 10 to 20 times, one every few seconds with no apparent cause! He doesn't like sneezes very much. LOL

I have a question for you: have you ever sneezed in your life up to now? I thought the answer is easy to get, you, or rather to say, all of human, sneezed, sneezing,to sneeze. it is a common thing for the people who caught cold or some other reasons. It is not strange, nor fun. people sneeze to release themselves, and it can not be delayed . you are weird to some extend,i am not mean to hurt you...but you should care more about your husband, rather than stay here talking about whether we enjoy sneeze or not!

My husband is not an invalid! Right now, he's downstairs in his office working. I don't hover over him. If he needs something, he will let me know and I'll take care of it.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with this, but I actually find myself looking for a bright light to look at so it will bring it on sooner when I am about to sneeze.

I've noticed that you haven't been around in awhile, singout. I hope all is okay and that you and yours are well! I also look at a bright light to bring on that stubborn sneeze that loves to tease! I learned a long time ago that the light irritates our eyes, making them water if even just a little, which helps to tickle our noses, bringing about that stubborn sneeze. It's a great little trick to know and so much better than wondering just when that sneeze is going to happen because you KNOW it will, eventually, and probably at the worst possible moment.

Hi, mentalward. I don't really enjoy sneezing. But when I feel that a sneeze needs to come, I sometimes expect it to hurry up and come out. I don't like keeping a sneeze stuck in my nostrils. It can be very irritating.

I am one person in the house that enjoys sneezing. Haaaatsuuu! Sorry about that. I am thinking, why I sneeze when i have no colds? It happens to me many times. And if i sneeze, people in the house will count with my sneezes. lol I love the feeling when I sneeze. The one that tickles the back of the neck and the ears when we sneeze, like, haaaaatssuuuu. sorry again for that. Zayzay will sometimes imitate me when I sneeze, and you will really laugh as he move his head up and down then "tsuuu" lol

I really don't like sneezing, you can't control them and they some time come at the wrong time. I do not think you are weird. Different stroke for different folks is the saying.

There are some sneezes I call "Brain Busters". LOL They're the kind that feel like your entire brain just came out of your nose and mouth! I'm not fond of them at all!!! But, the relief you feel after a good sneeze makes them worth it! They do often come at the wrong time, I agree, but the feeling... ahhh!

Hey This must be the most weird question i am answering, but yeas ,as a matter of fact i really do. But i have some conditions to put down. 1. No association with cold, flu, or any other ailment 2.Should come when I am not in anyone's company 3.Should come with moderate velocity Its natures design to expel the foreign body, where is the harm in enjoying the free service ??

Free service... love it! I agree with the conditions you mentioned. Sometimes a sneeze is just a sneeze and that's when they feel the best, once they're over. Sneezing when you're sick is no fun. Sneezing at the wrong time is no fun, either. I also agree with the "moderate velocity". Those sneezes that feel like your brain is being shattered aren't enjoyable at all! But, those sneezes that are right there, on the verge, then go hide somewhere... you just know they're going to happen, eventually.

Heyya mentalward! I do like sneezing when it's been there to do. I hate to have to sneeze and not be able to right away.

Me, too! You make all kinds of funny faces when that sneeze is on it's way, only to have it back up. If anyone is around, of course you have to explain that a sneeze just went away or they're going to think you're very strange, just making weird faces for no reason. If you look at a bright light (other than the sun) when you first realize that the sneeze may be going away, it can make you sneeze. I know. I'm a sneeze expert. Actually, the bright light irritates your eyes, making them tear which then tickles your nasal passages and almost always brings on that elusive sneeze. Doesn't always work, but usually it does. I think we all know that, when a sneeze is almost there then goes away, it's going to show itself eventually. My mother had the funniest sneezes I've ever heard. She had this tremendous buildup when a sneeze was imminent, "Ahh, ahhhh, ahhHHH, AHHHHHHHHH" then, the sneeze was a tiny little thing "chew"; you could barely hear it. Maybe it was wrong, but I always laughed when she'd sneeze because you would always expect this massive CCCHHHHEEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!! to follow the buildup but it never happened. Yeah, my bad!

No..i never feel good every time i sneeze and every body around me..never enjoy it..they look fun and they always tease me..I sneeze wherever their is a dust, when i stroll in the woods I sneeze and when their is furry animals I sneeze..and when air is so cold with morning dew drops..it triggers me sneezzing..sneezing a lot..then it is even worse when I have colds and sore throat..it gives me pain and my nose is red to...then..much worse I got a clogged runny nose with lot of booger...yaks...I am ashamed of it...

I don't think that I would like sneezing at all if I sneezed a lot but I don't sneeze often, usually only when I catch a cold and that's pretty rare. I am not allergic to pets or most pollen, so I just don't sneeze often. I do tend to sneeze when I am dusting around the house because I am allergic to dust. My husband has sneezing "fits" where he might sneeze anywhere between 10 and 20 times in a row before he finally stops. I know HE doesn't like sneezing! I know what you mean about the clogged, runny nose! It can be quite nasty and embarrassing at times! My husband's answer is to use a nasal spray often but I don't like using them because of the bad side-effect of using them too much. I'd rather just blow my nose and take an antihistamine/decongestant if necessary. I hate those sore, red noses too!

well, if I really have a choice, I would pick a sneeze over a cough anytime! I have been down with the cough of late. And it is making me super miserable. Coughing each time the throat itches. So hard is the cough that it feels like your lungs are going to come out the next time you cough! Making my back ache so much from the strain! Sneezes are so much easier to nurse. At least you can reach the irritated nose and nurse the irritation. But an itchy throat, well, it is right at the back of the throat that is impossible to reach to scratch to relieve the itch! So frustrating! Yes, a sneeze is definitely a good thing compared to a cough!

hellow! nice discussion! i hate sneezing! the mere fact that you feel that your about to sneeze then suddenly it will not push through for whatsoever reason. i also hate repetitive sneezing it drives me crazy over my colds. if i had this what i usually do is to drink plenty of water. moreso i inhale menthol balm just to stop sneezing.

no i dont enjoy sneezing and mostly i don;t like my husband;s sneezing. i get irritation when he sneezes. but it is common thing when we get cold and i adjusts in my house when he sneezes. but he can be recovered in two three days. if i get cold it will be more days like for 4,5 days or one week. and i take medicines to control it soon. but i don;t like sneezing and sometimes i will sneeze and all my tissues will be over. and my nose gets pinkish and sometimes below the nose also i gets whitish skin .so i hate when i get cold.
