I could be totally wrong about this, but I wanted to share my thoughts and see what you guys think. I live in South Alabama, not far from the Florida line, so I see a bunch of the Florida political ads. It didn't hit me until I was in Florida this past weekend, though, that neither of the candidates for Governor of Florida are the incumbent. I don't know if Florida has term limits for governors? But anyway, I'm driving down highway 98 in Florida on Sunday and it hits me that Jeb Bush is not running for re-election, and I wonder if he's planning to fun for President. God, I hope not. I have been looking forward to no more President Bush! I don't know much about Jeb but he seems to be somewhat more on the ball than his brother.. but I do not want a third President Bush. What do you guys think??

Hi, fellow Alabamaian! I sure hope not! I also do not want another Bush in the White House. I guess it is always possible Jeb would be a "better" president as he does seem to be at least more intelligent than the current Bush but I still dread the idea. I have had my fill of the title President Bush. I honestly don't know if he would get the votes needed though as so many people are fed up with the current Bush...I think the name Bush alone would be detrimental to a run for the office of president.

How cool! Where in the state are you? How very cool to hear that there is even one more person in this stubbornly "red" state who feels the way I do. I have learned since I first posted that there are term limits for Florida Gov., so Jeb could not run again. However, I do believe that he will be running for President. I just hope that he doesn't snow the country into believing that more Bush is good.

Don't you mean 3? Daddy is still out there after all, so we've already had 2. Do NOT want to go for the trifecta!

You can't judge somebody by their brother. Would you like it if somebody told you, Well, I won't hire you at this accounting firm because your brother was no good at math...

I live in South Florida and we DO have term limits (thank goodness for that). As much as not wanting another Bush as President, I certainly don't want Jeb Bush in any office in Florida either. It wouldn't surprise me if Jeb decides to run for President one day, but not yet. He's also got a son that could get in line for the job. Jeb is much more articulate than his brother George, but it's still the same family and such. I used to live up in Panama City and drove on Highway 98 quite a bit over the years. That whole area sure has changed in the 30 years I've been down here, but so has this area. It's going to be great when we retire next year, and I can move back closer to the Panhandle. So far, I have convinced hubby to move as far north as Ocala. Wish me luck!

Well the fact is that he is probably being groomed for the job and if so he also probably stands a prety good chance of making it. However, based on what I've seen of public opinion, his brother may have screwed that up royally for him. But given his family's history with the highest office in the land I wouldn't bet against his candidacy in an upcoming election. Probably not in 2 more years, but maybe in 6.

You are probably right on all counts... and I hope you are right about his father and brother screwing up his chances! Thanks for responding!

I too cannot bare to see another Bush in the White House. I'm not sure who else is running. I have heard rumors of Condaliza Rice and Hilary Clinton both running. I'm not sure if they were true. If Condaliza won she would not only be the first woman president, but also the first black president. I also heard that Major Guiliana plans to run. I'm interested to see the choices.
