Wouldn't it be cool if myLot and Ciao merged?

Just thought of this discussion from a recent one that I replied to. Basically this could make sense and the features and user databases can blend together in perfect harmony. That can produce 1 awesome way to earn quick money online. I'd really laugh at myself if this were to happen one day.

Well thats the whole idea of merging. Accounts being merged. Of course its a fantasy thought and I doubt it would be realistic. But it kinda matches in a way.

I don't think that it's a good idea. It might provoke more spammers. More work. And more load to the server, which isn't good.

True, but I guess I haven't really come across spammers and regarding servers. These days anything can be handled. But thanks for sharing on that!

As per the above comment, it's not at all likely - the sites are completely different - you can't even begin to compare one with the other. So many people come to MyLot to improve their English which is all well and good but Ciao is a professional outfit (now owned by Microsoft). People who are serious about writing consumer reviews go there to share their knowledge. As it is, people are flocking there from here and publishing really poorly written reviews to make a quick buck which is really detrimental to the site. If I went to look up information on a product and found reviews which had poor spelling and atrocious grammar I would run a mile thinking it was a bunch of kids writing on the site. It might sound harsh but that is the case. I guess people will rate me negatively for saying this stuff but sometimes people don't like the truth. I've been writing on the UK Ciao site for over 5 years and I'm so glad it hasn't had the influx of people like the US site has had recently of myLot members writing short and poorly written reviews which barely make sense and then get upset when they don't get a lot of money for it...
