Stopping A Bad Habit...

I used to have a bad habit on MyLot that I’m trying to break. I’d open up 10-20 discussions (or more) and type out my response, hit submit and then leave it on the tag page while I go to the next one. When I’d get several done I’d go back hit the skip button on the tag page and it would add the response to the discussion. Now I noticed something about a month ago. Whenever I did that, all of the ones that I left on the tag page and then added at the same time would all have the same number in brackets…the ( ) space. If I responded to 10 discussions my number would only go up by 1. I pointed it out to Hubby and he said well, your probably only getting paid for the one too…and not all of them. I hadn’t thought of that.
Since then I’ve been trying to remember to type my response, click submit, click skip on the tag page and then go to the next one. My number in ( ) goes up like it’s supposed to and I seem to be earning more too. It’s hard to break the habit though.
Do you ever do this? What bad MyLot habits do you have that your trying to break?

Good thing you cottoned on now rather then later ,it seems people try to get much done in as little time as possible and ending up being well short changed lol .My bad habit habit is I forget to discuss I just enjoy reading what everyone else has to say and get caught up there but not today I'm in the mood for responding. cheers.

i'm glad u realized what was happening. u were cutting yourself short & your earnings. the only bad habit i have {i don't think it shoud be] is saying what i think. i have always been that way but seem some people don't like my opinions sometimes.

I used to do this as well but I discovered the same thing as you did and sometimes I just forget to go back to it. Now I am careful to do the whole process in one go and then go to the next.
It is a bad habit and I think I have it under control now. I still open up more than one window because I look for a few posts to respond to and then change my mind set to responding. It is almost like a search and respond function.

I have a habbit of doing that as well. However I have not notice it messing with my post count at all. But it could very well. As at times I thought i should have a higher post count and made higher earnings. I will have to try that.

If you have two discussions open at once then they get counted as one. You have to fully post the response and tag it before opening another post comment box. Some times I still do this and forget and I have to close the box of the one I have not posted and then re-open it so it registers it.

I never did try to do it that way, although I admit to thinking about it a few times. My bad Mylot habit that I'm trying to break is forgetting to give best responses. I have so many backed up that I've almost given up hope of getting caught up on them. LOL

My bad habit would probably be my spelling errors in my posts. I try my hardest not to do it, but just as I push the send button I usuallly would spot a mispelled word and groan because there is no going back....lol. I still say mylot needs an edit button :(

I have the same habit as you do and it is really a bad habit as if you leave it in Tag page. I already notice it before that my number didn't went up so I stopped that habit in that moment. I could have a higher number if only I noticed that earlier. I think I should be up of at least 10 points.

I do that too but never really payed much attention to the numbers. I think you have to give mylot time to update your numbers. Try it the way you always do. Count your responses, close all the windows, then go back in a bit and check your number. I think it just has to catch up to itself.

I can honestly say that I have never gotten into such a habit as yourself but I must admit that bad habit I have got into in myLot is not commenting on people's responses as soon as they appear in my inbox. I always used to and it seemed to make life easier doing that but I have got a bit lazy lately, much to my detriment, as I then have to go back and spend ages commenting on people's resonses. It is much better to do little and often than to do loads at one time.

I dont see how you can do that many at a time! I read one then responde to it if I have something to say. Then I go to the next one.
I think if I tried reading that many at a time I would forget what I was going to say or I would say it to the wrong one. O I would be so mixed up. You must really be a multi tasker. :)

I have always done them one by one, it doesn't take long to answer a response, so I have never had that experience.

What I do is I open one at at time answer the discussion and while it is loading I fill in the tag to the last one. That way I keep moving one. I then close the one that the tag is working on before I open up anther one or I have thee opened at the same time and close the one that the tag is done on. That way I try to keep up on the tags.

Ho twoey...I have never had that problem but the only problem I am trying to break at the moment is staying up until the early hours of the morning responding to discussions as really I should go to bed a lot earier than 4am!! LOL hugs littleowl
