Even if you don't follow the Portuguese league you are well informed :) And yes, they have win more than 25 times the league a 3 uefa champions league and they are the biggest team on the world ( I mean the team with the most fans ) and this year Benfica bought some stars from Italy, Spain and etc, Like Pablo Aimar, Reyes, and Suazo! Cheers from Portugal!

yeah, i know Benfica is a big club in Portugal and even in Europe. Sorry I cannot watch the Portugal soccer league in my coutry but usually saw them great performance in the Champions League. Benfica has got several super stars this season including my favirote player Pablo Amair(actually he is a player that's much underestimated). so how's Pablo performing this season? i wonder it very much..

Pablo at the begging was showing his full potential since we was getting used to the team and Portuguese Soccer but now he is more involved with the team so he is doing fantastic games on Benfica! Amazing passes for the strikers! He is the engine of the team! :)

That's how Aimar playing but it's a little bit weird why such a good player like him being overlooked by other clubs? And the national team manager (now Diego Maradona). I have known Aimar since he represent Argentina in World Youth Cup (1997 I think) as has been labelled as wonderkid during that time. But now he's still playing well, I mean he's not old yet and should be at the peak of his career (club and international). However, I believes that the only party that get the benefit from this situation is Benfica because Aimar can devoted all his time and energy to paly for the club.

Despite being a veteran at Benfica , Pablo Aimar remains one of the most influential players at the Liga Sagres club and will surely be missed when he does indeed decide to move on or hang up his boots.

Hi there friend. I have heard of them many times both in real life and in games (like FIFA soccer games). I also heard of Benfica in Handball where they beat Timisoara (one of my countries teams) on 15 03 2008 thus they qualified for the semi-finals in that sport.

Big names recently, this years Benfica bought José Antonio Reyes from Atletico Madrid, Aimar from Saragoza, Balboa from Real Madrid and Suazo from Inter Milano. Yeah Ronaldo was formed on juniors squad of Sporting

I know about Benfica. They're a big names in Portugal football scene alongside Porto and Sporting Lisbon. I guess Eusobio also play for Benfica last time? Sorry if I'm wrong. And the other legend player are Rui Costa and Nuno Gomes. How's the team perform now? The current coach is Quique Sanchez Flores right? On the paper, they should be much stronger now because the inclusion of Reyes and Aimar.

You are not wrong, Eusebio, the greatest legend of Portugal played for Benfica indeed, so did Rui Costa and Nuno Gomes still plays there and I hope he finish his career there :D. Rui Costa once left Benfica to Fiorentina because Benfica needed money seriously and he left for that cause, otherwise we would have continued on the club of his heart, Benfica :), and he came back two years ago, played for that 2 years and now he his almost president of Benfica :D eheh, he was the one you brought Aimar, Suazo, Reyes etc. Yeah Quique Flores he is the currently manager! At the moment Benfica is on the second place of the table with their rivals Porto on forth and Sporting on 6th.

Well Benfica is a top team from portugal. It almost always features in every year UEFA Champions league. This is quiet a big achievement because you need to stay in top 3 or 4 positions of their respective country's league. As they feature regularly in Champions league, they ought to be a real good team. Many of good players in EPL,Spanish primera liga and other top leagues were originally from portugese clubs.
