With the government handing out bail outs like candy, it has become the new hot ticket for Lobbyist. Companies want a piece of the bail out pie so they are spending millions on lobbyist to make sure they get it. Foreign companies have lobbbyists that are pushing for them to get a piece of the pie now too. Thier reasoning is that this is a global crisis and it would be wrong to ignore US firms that are controlled or owned by foreign companies. Guess what? They are getting their way. We are going to start giving bail out money to foreign companies. Want an even scarier fact. Nineteen banks that are getting federal bail out money spent 32.4 million dollars on lobbyist already this year. That is just the tip of this huge iceburg.A lot of companies are using the bail out money to pay for more Lobbyists so they can lobby for even more money. Anyone else see a problem with this? Tell me what you think. This whole situation is out of control and we are picking up the tab for it. But it looks the its a good time to be a lobbyist. They are making money hand over fist and seem to be able to get our government to do whatever they want.

Again: WTH are people surprised? As soon as the lobbyist firms began to boom because of the crisis...it was staring us all in the face. Also: as for foreign banks, this was something that was scandalously talked about BEFORE it passed and one of the reasons alot of the people who voted no on the bill (twice) gave. I've ALWAYS had a problem with this. Of course this situation is out of control. The bailout legislation was AWFUL and didn't really address the problem. It's just bad following bad and that's all there is to it. They didn't listen and now we're gonna have to pay the price. Isn't that just lovely?
