Stupid people

The other night there was a bad storm in my area. I got caught in it on my way home from work. I had to end up pulling over in my car on the side of the road because I could not see a thing from all the rain. I was being hammered by large hail stones, there were branches flying all over the place and the roads were flooding. It was the worst storm we've had here in 10 years apparently. Anyway in all of this, I could still see people outside of their homes doing things. I even saw some people standing underneath power lines looking up at branches that were on them. Are these people stupid? You would think people would have the common sense to stay inside of their homes in these situations. One person died in this storm, because he decided to go into a storm water drain and take photographs! He got swept away and drowned. I feel sorry for him and his family..but what an idiot! Has anyone else seen people doing stupid things like this? Do you think there would be less accidental deaths if people would stop and think before they did things?

Well, let's take it in the perspective of those "stupid" people. Those people who were watching the storm... if you couldn't see out your car because of the rain, what makes you think they can? Maybe they were trying to get to shelter, but they couldn't because of all the rain and wind. And that man who was trying to take a pic... did he know he was going to be drowned? Of course not. He was trying to make money, perhaps to feed his starving children at home. Now, if those people did it for no reason, then, yes, I'd agree, they are stupid, but you don't know their side of the story.

Yeh I know what you mean. But I could see them, they were standing under the powerlines pointing at a branch hanging over them lol. And I forgot to say with the person who drowned, he had a friend with him who managed to survive, and he claimed they were simply being silly and trying to take photos, and that it was a big mistake.

Most people are thinking about anything else but their safety. So, you don't have to blame them for their foolish.

I agree with you. You see some strange things. The other day it was raining here (not storming) just windy and rainy and I came home and seen a guy in his yard with a leaf blower...in the rain and wind! LOL What an idiot! It takes all kind I guess!
