Would you buy a house for $1?

Around February of this year, there were about 24 houses that were selling for $1. A university was going to be built and wanted to vacant the area. But the catch is you have to move the house to another location. It is so tempting!!?? $1!!! But I wouldn't know how much the moving a house cost and not to mention taking it apart and putting it together. And how much it would cost to put a house on new land. Would you buy it?

Not likely, but depends. Some universities have gorgeous old houses around them. If it was one of those big old beautiful houses, I might have considered it. But if it was just a normal plain old house, nah I would have passed, more hassle than it would have been worth to me.

no I would not. it would cost to much to move it and you would also have to own land to put the house on. that would cost too.

Yep, I'm not sure how much it would cost to move and buy land, to make it worth it.

I would defi buy a house for $1. Moving cost would not be as much the cost of a totally new house. but yeah, it would matter if you had to pay for the land you will put your $1 house on.

I would like to buy that house! Woah! Hold on, wait a minute! No Free home delivery? That's too bad! I don't think that it will be possible to move the house as intact.

I would not buy that house. The process and the expenses in transferring it would be very high.

Heck ya...it's a bit costly to move a house but much cheaper than to build one if you have the land to put it on.

it probably would cost more to move the house then going and buying the property and building your own. It would be nice to buy a house for $1 though.

You would have to buy some land to move the house to. And moving a house is expensive. I guess it would depend on the house if it's worth it or not.

good investment !!!!! even better if you find land close by to relocate them and improve the houses and get good permits and contracters to asist you /make sure your insurance is in place too

It would depend on how the house looked and I would hire an inspector to look at it first. Then if it was a nice house ,I'd have it moved. You can get lots of land for MUCH less than a house itself. I'd do it for sure if it were feasable.
