How many new acquaintances do yo make in the course of a day?

I am working as a manager in a departmental store and over a 1000 peopole come to make purchases everyday. Out of that at least 20 walk up to my office with some problem or the other. i try tosolve thier problem and then get talking to them and at least about 5-7 people becoem regular acquaintances. Everytime they come to the store, they make it a point to come and see me. If nothign jsut to make small talk. How many new people do you meet every day? Do yo become acquaintances or you maintain your distance?
