I know that many people are having a hard time this year with finances. I am wondering if you will be spending more, less or the same for holiday gifts this year as you did in eyars past. I know that we are cutting down a lot becasue we just dont have it to spend and we refuse to go into debt for gifts. I have been making thigs for family and finding creative was to save. I would love to hear others ideas of how you plan to spend this holiday season.
Blessings,

Like many others, we will be cutting back this year. The boys will get one bigger gift each and then a few smaller items. They be asking for gift cards (to the stable companies like Target & WalMart) so they can select the video games & DVDs they want. The one way we'll be cutting back is buy giving them more clothes as gifts this year (rather than just buying them the clothes the need) and we've been looking for sale days to make purchases.
We were able to buy our sons some shirts they really liked (Tony Hawk shirts) for 45% off at Kohls last Friday night, along with pants for school and a couple of sweatshirts...all at up to 45% off (and a couple of the shirts were 45% + another 10% off!)
For other family members I will be making ornaments with recent pictures of their children on them. My sister-in-laws love my scarves, so I'll be knitting a few of them scarves for Xmas and my mother-in-law loves sea glass jewelry and I'll make her and bracelet/earring or necklace earring set. Hopefully, we'll cut down even more on our holiday spending this Christmas.

I'm not planning to spend more this year, well compared to the past years. I'm just planning to give out cash for my godchildren who will visit me on Christmas day to avoid to stock all the gifts of those whose not going to drop by to get their gifts.

Thanks for the comment. I think that sounds like a great idea. I dont think many are changing much of how they spend this holiday.
