WHY are plane tickets so expensive?? I don't understand it. I want to book a flight for summer 2009 to New York City to see my girlfriend for a few weeks. That's going to cost 1200 Euros which is $1440 USD. If I reach that amount I still wouldn't have any money left to spend. There's another flight that costs 507 Euro's which is about 700 USD. I could reach that amount of money before the summer but it has a stop in Iceland so the trip will be 24 hours until I get in NYC. I'm never going to get that money before summer. I'm still considering taking that iceland stop and then to NYC but it's going to be heavy. Especially because I'm going alone and I'm 22 years old so I probaly will get lost easily. I just can't believe that a ticket only costs near 200 Euros and about 400 for TAX.
