Welcome to MyLot. I just joined the site myself 2 weeks ago so I am still new to. I am pretty sure that the idea of MyLot is to simply take part in those discussions that interest you. And depending on the quality of your posts (Replays to discussions or discussions started) you will start to earn a few cent or more.
But I am still not exactly sure as to how it all works. So just keep looking for discussions that might interest you or make a few of your own.

Yes, you are correct in your idea of what myLot is. :) There will be many Discussions that interest you. :) And when you make several quality posts per day, you will see good earnings. :) And, definitely, have fun! :)

hi spartan..welcome to mylot. what good about this site is that you can express anything that is in your head and share your views and opinions about any topics or discussions posted by your common e-lotters. Plus you can also post your own discussions and have others to share their opinions. By doing those, you can earn as much as you can depending on how many discussions you have posted as well as how many responses you get from the discussions you have posted AND how many discussions you have responded and how you responded to those discussions. But the best thing is that aside from earning money, you can also earn friends here.
Me, im here in mylot mainly because Im enjoying giving opinions to others and its fun reading all the comments and responses that I got from the discussions I have posted.

Yep, I talk about anything and everything here. You definitely earn a lot if you are a regular quality poster. I have also made many friends. And there is always a lot of interesting thing to talk about here! :) Welcome to myLot! :)

It's pretty easy really. Find discussions you find interesting and respond to them. Start your own discussions as well. Add whomever ask to be your friend and make yourself friendly as well. Be yourself and don't back down from what you believe. Remember every one will have opinions and they may not be the same as yours but this doesn't make them wrong either nor does it make you wrong. Post/respond up to 500 and you will get to start adding pictures to your discussions as well and this will add a little more money as well. Good luck and welcome to my lot.

500 posts also lets you copy/paste. :) And 200 posts lets you use the "myLot code" which lets you put cute smilies/emoticons into your posts. :) I agree with the rest of the advice, so I shall not repeat it again. :) Again, welcome to myLot, and have fun! :)

Hi, spartan_fbi! :) I was new here not that very long ago. :) The money is definitely nice. :) You will earn a lot if you make several quality posts per day - 5-7 sentences or more on each response that you make that thoroughly and completely answers the person's question. But you are right. :) Money is only a part of it. :) The people and the Discussions are amazing! :) I will definitely be your friend! :) Welcome to myLot! :)
