could be a possibility of mislabeling on the part of the retailer. if you have the receipt, you have the rights to give it back or at least replace thew product. anyway, did you really check the compatibility of the ram and mobo before you bought it? i think that your responsibility.

you might be using a single card for 2GB RAM as the Main board supports 4GB RAM . so do as the first responder said . remove the RAM card from the slot , clean it with a soft clean cloth or a clean white paper . And put it in another slot . This might solve your problem . OR if your BIOS allocates 1GB RAM memory for the Video then you may have to change the BIOS settings so that you can allocate more RAM for the computer processor . if you are confused about this then call the servicing center :-)

Is there a possibility that you have purchased a fake ram or the manufacturer has packaged the ram wrongly. Try to fix it into your friends' computer to see if similar problems occur? Else try contacting the shop where you have bought the ram from and see if they can do a one-to-one exchange for ya.

try to change the slot . or try to check it on your old/friends computer that it works or not. if it still not works then my friend as it is new so you must use your warranty period then.
