I know this is an old discussion hope and would like to think that this problem has been cleared up a long time ago. However, whenever I get mouth ulcers I initially use teething gel to take some of the pain away. The Doctor also told me to use a certain antibiotic tablet to get rid of the bacteria. These can be bought over the counter and if you want to know the name of them, please let me know and I will PM the details to you. I don't think I should be putting a brand name product here. :)

I've always had a problem with mouth ulcers, as well. (We've never really called them canker sores-- I'm glad I'm not the only to call them ulcers.) The doctor recommended a certain supplement-- L-Lysine, I believe. When I took them, I did notice a difference. I've also read that Vitamin C and Vitamin B (especially B-12) helps. The important thing is to try to clean the ulcers, so that bacteria, etc. will be removed, and they can heal better/at a faster rate.
I hadn't been getting them as badly-- hardly at all-- for a few months, but about a week ago they started up again. My boyfriend gave me some Listerine to use, so hopefully that will work.

Do you mean canker sores? The white sores inside usually on the gums? I don't get them, but my fiancee does. He uses this toothpaste made for that by Rembrandt. It's expensive, like 8 bucks a tube, but he swears it works. Says when he doesn't use it, they start coming back. Here's a link with home remedies for treating them. Good luck!

I've just found this discussion too and if they haven't cleared up I have used SM-33 to ease the pain (It has a anaesthetic base like teething gel) Also try some Acidophilus plus tablets. I use these a lot as I don't eat yoghurt and it is good for mouth bacteria I think.
